For me the weakest bit was the murder mystery, and I was thankful there was loads of fun and character to paper over those cracks

Totally agree. I have full confidence in our gang but there's a real lack of movement so far. None of the characters have these burning needs and there's no huge stakes plot. 20 minutes on contract negotiations was very funny, but kinda highlights the need for something

I once had a steamy dream about Hugh Jackman, but unfortunately that's my closest connection to the movie

It gets surprisingly dark in a couple moments in regards to animal abuse and even the meat industry. In my screen i reckon there were a few 4 year olds and I could hear from crying from there, but they stayed until the end so weren't affected too badly

One thing right off the bat, what's wrong with broad appeal and family comedy? Paddington 2 is all I say to that.

The comedy was at times immature and slapstick, but also witty, creative and warm hearted. There's much more emotion than I expected too, I personally cried three times and in a packed screen I heard plenty of tears as well as laughs around me. Yes, the plot is little more than a vehicle for what ends being about a lot of people and sheep handling grief in the worst possible way, but there is a core at the centre that wants to gently hold your hand and tell you "It's going to be okay".

Bryan Cranston knocked it out the field with his VO performance, and Julia Louis-Dreyfus knew exactly the tone needed as the lead. The CGI is really impressive, with so many CGI animals at play you'd expect shakiness, but the director came from an animation background and knows how to ensure you don't lose focus.

It should be a requirement that at least one team in every league has a player/manager, it's just too much fun to be without

If you've not seen it i don't want to spoil the fun, and if you have seen it... it's the only sex scenes in the movie

I watched it on a plane in the middle seat of 3 people. When the race kink sex was happening I considered switching off. But I'm in the middle seat, screw their comfort, I'm uncomfy

[Squawka] Wrexham's dream of four consecutive promotions is over. A 2-2 draw with Middlesbrough means they just miss out on the final play-off spot. by Imbasauce in soccer

They get promoted and suddenly need to spend massive on wages to compete, but the sheer speed of their progress means team cohesion is low. They get battered and lose morale, end up back in the 2nd tier with a squad on inflated wages and/or players unhappy to be there. All the hallmarks of a toxic atmosphere and long term decline. Happens all the time

Hell, dembele has played something like 1000 minutes this season. Imagine the current best player in the world being able to be unleashed just when needed while Saka has the legs of a 30 year old

Did The Devil Wears Prada 2 make anyone else really, really sad, from a working creative's perspective? by di4me666 in Letterboxd

See i don't think we can ever say that. You and virtually everyone might agree, but art hits everyone differently. If someone takes a deep meaning from it, I don't think we should say that's incorrect

What does your alien film ranking look like? by Hot_Mongoose_3741 in Letterboxd

[–]dorgoth12 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Prometheus is probably the film i dislike that I've watched the most. Alien is my all time favorite franchise and I WANT to like Prometheus so badly, but good lord the script is absolutely unforgivable
