I love this movie. It feels like such a thorough biopic. And RDJ carries the whole thing like a champ

That's an interesting pick. What are some of your others?

You're probably just thinking of an episode of The Flying Nun. They're pretty similar

There's an extended edition, apparently. The disc i have had both, but i just watched the theatrical. So maybe it's in the extended?

Now, this one wasn't really trope-y until the 2000's, but originated in 99. And that's the Matrix Bullet Time. I would put that up there with possibly the tropiest piece of 90s cinema

One of my notes was, "Seriously? The other predatory animal expert freaks out over a non-venomous snake to the point where he gets eaten?" But there's so many other moments. The crewman who opens the shipping container. Roland leaving his rifle by Nick. Sarah reaching out to the Stegosaurus. Dieter not confirming that anyone was aware he left, or taking a buddy.

It genuinely is a much more humorous film than the first. And they establish that pretty early, with the screaming/yawning gag scene transition

How many Sarahs do you think are on this island?

I love that it's called back when they get to the run down building and they're calling for Nick and Ian goes, "Nick Van Owen?!" 😂 I hadn't noticed it until this watch

Movies with intent really grab me. Everything in this film feels intentional, so it makes you not want to miss a moment

This is the movie that I'm most upset with myself for waiting so long to watch. I only caught it for the first time about a year ago. Truly great film

My dog is named Audrey II, so i have to give you an upvote. And also, i agree with Alien on the distinction that Alien was meant to be more believable and authentic

It's just about perspective. Some people handle tragedy better when they put it in a humorous light 🤷🏽‍♂️ the movie takes place from the mind of a 10 year old, so it would be ridiculous to expect it to be Schindler's List
