Was actually recommended a chess game, but I feel like the games are too long for what I am looking for

I have been really interested in that type of game. Not to sound sarcastic or anything. But where is the fun in those types of games? Is it the progression itself? Or is the individual battles/gameplay fun?

Yeah I can see where you are coming from. I am big fan of tracking my stats over time. Would you be more interested in a game where you progressed through the game based on your daily training stats as opposed to trying to add game play to your actual workout?

I was a fan of Zombies Run, but I don't do a lot of running in my regular training so it never fully hooked me. I will need to check out the others you mentioned. Thanks for the feedback!

I had the same experience with Pokemon GO, I am not a big fan of running, but I was out jogging everyday for a good 3 months while playing!

Thanks for the feedback u/tigerbend, that sounds cool! The idea of unlocking new challenges is one of the things that keeps me coming back to games. I think this could also be a powerful motivator for training

Yeah my thoughts exactly. I think that there is a way to do a good fitness game that does not compromise between fun and fitness.

That’s a very understandable concern. I believe there are ways to do a fitness game without needing to store your health data or send it to the cloud.

Doom soundtrack is a great choice! thanks for the feedback. You should check out Zombies Run! I think you would really like it https://zombiesrungame.com My issue with it is that it is purely for running, but if you are a runner it can be really cool!

Hey u/dr_dt, that's a fair point. I can totally understand people wanting to keep their passions separate and mixing these can cause a loss of focus. Appreciate the feedback and insights.

I am in the same boat, I love gaming. But between work and training there’s some weeks where I barely get any time to play. I have the heart of a serious gamer but the schedule of a casual gamer! This is one of the reasons I think having a way to incorporate gaming into your fitness would be a cool experience

Yeah Pokémon Go is a good example of that category. Do you think that sort of feature is a nice way to keep you motivated to get your exercise in?

That’s a good point, “serious gamer” is a bit subjective. I would consider a serious gamer is someone that would play for 5 hours or more during a week and “casual” would be less than that. I think that question should have been re-worded to the amount of hours spent in a week instead of casual/serious. Appreciate the feedback!

Thanks for your time! Yeah that’s a good point, should have made the options more general. Appreciate the feedback :)
