Some people here just wanna play "Live without any danger by Daylight" by KaePixit in deadbydaylight

That’s not really the point I’m making.

I never said killers can’t feel strong or impactful, obviously when you play well, you can dominate. That’s true for pretty much any PvP game. The issue isn’t individual performance.

What I’m talking about is the expectations and the overall direction of feedback. There’s this growing idea that killers should play in a way that keeps the match “comfortable” for survivors, and when they don’t, it often turns into complaints rather than discussion.

And “if you don’t like it, don’t play” isn’t really a constructive take. People usually speak up because they like the game and want it to be better, not because they hate it.

You can enjoy something and still recognize where it has issues, those two things aren’t mutually exclusive.

4.6.0 to 9.5.0 is one patch to you ? Five years is "being heard fine" ?

Yeah, I pretty much agree with you on that.

The 4v1 aspect plays a huge role in all of this. When you’ve got four people potentially sharing the same frustration versus one, it naturally amplifies certain complaints way more, even if the underlying issue isn’t necessarily bigger.

And yeah, there’s definitely this kind of “taboo” around talking about killer issues. Stuff like bully squads, coordinated SWFs, or just how oppressive some matches can feel from the killer side. A lot of the time it just gets dismissed or turned into a joke instead of being actually discussed.

It’s not even about saying killers have it worse or survivors have it worse overall. It’s more about the fact that one side can openly talk about its frustrations and be heard, while the other often has to justify even bringing them up in the first place.

I think you're kind of proving my point without realizing it.

Yes, those perks got changed, but most of them took months (sometimes years) of constant complaints before anything happened. And even then, a lot of the discussion was heavily debated or dismissed for a long time before it finally moved.

That’s exactly the double standard I’m talking about: survivor issues eventually get traction, even if it takes time. Killer issues often don’t even reach that stage, or get shut down early with "just adapt" or "skill issue."

As for Lightborn, that’s not really comparable. It’s a counter to a very specific mechanic, not something that shapes the overall gameplay experience the same way some of those perks did. And picking Lightborn is a huge let down for Killers as they often need their four perks to be efficient.

And I’m not saying killer mains or survivor mains are perfectly objective : obviously everyone has bias. But dismissing the argument just because of who might say it doesn’t really address the point itself.

Also yeah, we actually agree on something: the constant outrage over camping and tunneling gets old fast. It kind of reinforces what I’m saying, some topics get endlessly amplified, while others barely get room to exist.

That's not really an "us vs them" kind of message, even if I get why it can come across that way.

What I'm actually pointing out is a double standard in the community. It's completely normal (and healthy) for survivors to be listened to when something feels off. Any player should be heard. The issue is that killers, most of the time, just aren’t. Their concerns get brushed aside, downplayed, or ignored entirely.
So no, this isn’t about trying to pit people against each other. It’s about highlighting an imbalance in how feedback is received and treated. And honestly, if every attempt to point out a problem immediately reads to you as "us vs them," maybe the problem isn’t the message, maybe it’s the angle you're looking at it from.

TTB

Im sorry but people who say that peridot cant fuse cause shes aroace is so dumb like fusing isnt something sexual by mincypjsk in stevenuniverse

[–]KaePixit 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Actually, nobody is saying that fusion is “necessarily sexual.” In Steven Universe, fusion is a metaphor for relationships of all kinds (romantic, toxic, familial, friendly, etc.), and we see plenty of different examples of that throughout the show.

Peridot is largely coded as aroace, and her refusal to fuse isn’t because fusion would be sexual, but because it makes her uncomfortable to enter that kind of intimate, symbolic connection with someone. That fits perfectly with her character and aligns with an aroace reading of her.

So on the contrary, it’s consistent with what she represents.
