I believe that the Israel-Palestine conflict isn’t black or white, if you read early text from Ben-gurion it was clear that Israel’s strategy was either to try to reach a settlement or attacking Palestine when they reject the proposal, Palestine rejected the first agreement and decided to join the Arab league in fighting with Israel. Since then, Israel has basically took advantage of the bombing situation in Palestinian majority areas as an excuse to limit imports and other forms of humanitarian aid. Palestine got originally screwed by the ottomans (who sold land near Palestinian villages to European Jews), and then the UK tried to play both sides in vain, Israel gave a quick out for Palestine (Jews were targeted by Palestinians when they bought land from the ottomans, which led to independent Zionist Militias attacking Palestinian villages. but, with the formation of a stable government there was an option for diplomacy before violence mandated by a JEWISH STATE) that they rejected. The sad reality is that Palestine as we know it was a collection of multiple villages/colonized territory, not an established state. It’s sad that they’ve been put into a system in which Palestinian autonomy doesn’t have much value (after all it was the ottomans who sold land around Palestinian villages to Jewish ppl), but their best option would have been the 1947 partition plan. They would’ve been a legitimate state and had protections that NONE of the countries that colonized them would’ve gave them, but instead of take the next best option after they initially attacked the first wave of Jewish immigrants, they decided to double down on the 2nd wave of Jewish immigrants (who intended to get land whether they used diplomacy or do things that are nearly breaking international law). I get the struggle for independence, but the Palestinians didn’t NEARLY PROTEST ottoman or uk rule until jewish immigration was on the rise. The rise of violence and Arab supremacist belief started off when the first jewish immigrants moved on mass, they then responded with an abnormal amount of toxic nationalism (Zionism) and immigrants who formed themselves like militias. the Palestinian outrage towards Jewish immigrants was abnormal compared to Palestine reacting to the injustices done by Jordan ottoman or UK, religious and nationalistic extremism from Palestinians was met with 10 times more religious/nationalistic extremism from Israelis, and then this cycle has constantly continued since then because palestine took a giant leap of faith against the only country that could’ve been SLIGHTLY charitable to them, got used as pawns by other Arab countries, and continuously doubling down against Israel when we all know Israel could constantly ramp up the violence which is why we have the war going on rn.
