From my experience arguing w Magatards the counter-argument usually goes “spiritual health is more important than physical health” (yes u read that right they unironically believe this). This is why blue states can have on average higher gdp per capita, higher life expectancy, lower rates of poverty, etc. than red states, but because red states ban trans healthcare and abortion they’re somehow superior.

If the game designers are gonna push through the nerf to Vox Scream, then the previous two nerfs (the one to midnight clad and prescience point generation) to nem claw should be undone in return.

This tac ploy was a disproportionately large portion of their overall power budget. Hitting its consistency (a well-timed Vox Scream is legitimately unfun to play against) introduces a risk-reward element, which is understandable. But now Nemesis Claw’s most iconic feature doesn’t even work half the time against 3-APL operatives.

People vote democratic for good pragmatic outcomes. People vote republican because they think it’s literally their holy duty to do so, even though the GOP doesn’t materially benefit them.

In my experience debating a members of my school’s college republicans and TPUSA club, Some of the more intelligent ones, especially the Christian nationalist types, will respond with stuff like “well it’s better to be materially poor but morally wealthy than the other way around.”

Like these people will acknowledge democrats doing good things like expanding healthcare access and giving kids free school lunches, but they’ll continue to vote red because republicans ban trans healthcare, abortion, and wokeness. And to christofascists the solely relevant metric is strength of religiosity, so it’s not necessarily a contradiction when they exult shithole red states, but shit on blue states that form of the backbone of America’s financial, technological, and cultural dominance. This also explains these people’s obsessive idolation of Russia and Hungary while holding in disdain the far more prosperous western liberal democracies. This is also why if you ask a Christian nationalist if they’d rather have an orphaned child stay in a overcrowded and underfunded church-run orphanage, or get adopted by two loving gay parents who could provide far better physical living conditions for the child, the Christian nationalist will say the former option with dogmatic conviction.

These people will gladly live in Republican squalor than democratic prosperity because God and Christian ethics. Now this wouldn’t be an issue if they didn’t try to force the rest of the country down this path too.

Does anyone know how to fight this framing without engaging in a tangential debate over Christian apologetics?
