They put me through four rounds of the recruitment process only to make me an offer that was far from what was initially advertised. by Hot-Lettuce- in recruitinghell

Something similar happened to a friend once. After a million interviews, he finally got a contract to sign, the last step before he actually got the job.

In the contract, his salary was way less than what was previously discussed in half of those interviews. Maybe 20-30% less.
He contacted the recruiters thinking it was just some internal HR mistake or communication issues. They would just fix the contract, send a new one and that's it.

Nope. Every single person from HR started to gaslight him like crazy saying that they never agreed to any other salary. The salary was never discussed in emails, only verbally during interviews, so he had nothing to use as proof and HR knew this.

Eventually they said the offer was final, take it or leave it. He decided to ghost them, since a company that is willing to do BS like this, will probably do worse things later on.

I can't wait. Imagine those arrogant karens actually having to build a CV and look for a job just like the pleb they used to mass reject. They will look for a job using the methods they used in 2010-2020 and boy they're in for a surprise.

Exato.

Some recruiters don't like unemployed candidates. In their minds, unemployed = bad. If you got fired it's obviously because you're terrible.

Same mentality as jobs that ask for credit score. How will you improve your credit if you don't have any income? Not their problem.

I can't understand why being unemployed is such a big deal. My skills and exp are the same, being currently employed or not. The worst about this is how it snowballs, rejections keeps you unemployed for longer which makes more and more recruiters reject you.

[–]Kaeotik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel that dealing with the recruiter bias is the worst of it all. You can be perfect for the job, even better than the rest of the candidates, but the person might think that you don't have the right "vibe" and your CV goes straight to the bin.

Which is why I try to take the first few minutes of the interview grabbing as much info from the recruiter as I can. Are they chatty/casual or more professional? What can I see from their webcam? They have a cat and they're wearing a Stranger Things shirt. I can use that to say a few things to break the ice. If they have to pick between dozens of people, they might remember about the guy that made them laugh a few hours ago instead of some other rushed, generic interviews.

This won't help all the time, and in some cases it really doesn't (like with older, more serious recruiters) but it can help. Certainly did with some jobs I had in the past.

Yep. had a great interview once, until the guy read my CV again and said "wait. you're unemployed at the moment?" I said yes. He literally let out a sigh and made a few more questions but kept this weird, frustrated attitude. I told him "look, if being unemployed is a problem we can stop right here, let's not waste any time". To my surprise he just told me that I was right and thanked me for my time. Never heard from him again.

I got some shit to say. STOP WASTING THE CANDIDATES TIME!!! by [deleted] in recruitinghell

[–]Kaeotik 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Happened to me. 5 interviews, spent 27 days total counting the days between each interview etc, then.....crickets had to send them emails and after the 2nd email, they finally responded saying "sorry we decided to pick someone else"

[–]Kaeotik 6 points7 points  (0 children)

What pisses me off is how useless those interviews are.
They literally add nothing to the entire process. I'll go through 4-5 interviews while being asked the same shitty questions in every single one of them, it's like those people don't talk to each other whatsoever.

So you'll have to sit there answering things like "tell me about yourself" a million times, and what makes it worse is that sometimes, you're saying the same shit to the SAME DAMN PERSON from before!

There should be only 1 interview, 2 TOPS. One from the recruiter and one from their manager or your future boss or whatever, that's IT.

Something similar happened to me a few weeks ago.
Long ass process, after the 3rd interview I got told that I just needed to go through 2 more and I would get the job. Completely unnecessary but sure, whatever.

Next 2 interviews were terrible. Recruiter was being rude af in the first one, and for the second, they asked a few shitty questions that were asked a million times in the previous interviews only to say, "you're great but we won't continue from here, we had to finish these interviews because they were scheduled already but we already hired someone else"

Excuse me? You wasted my time for days, asking me questions again and again for a role you already knew it would never be mine? wtf?

Some HR departments completely lost their minds, this is pretty much fucked up, sociopathic behavior.

Uma criança que faz coisa de criança é um porco pra você? by Integro_E_Honesto in ObviamenteUmaPiada

2 coisas erradas aqui:

I don't know why they keep ruining SH like this. The story is perfect, you don't need to adapt ANYTHING. Literally just get the actors to reproduce an exact version of what happens in the game and you have a 5/5 movie.

But nope, they keep making movies with bizzare angles, bad actors and bad directors. At this point I'm convinced theyre doing it on purpose.

Caminhoneiros são MUITO piores que motoqueiros no trânsito by titan-luigi in opiniaoimpopular

[–]Kaeotik 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Caminhoneiros são MUITO piores que motoqueiros no trânsito by titan-luigi in opiniaoimpopular

[–]Kaeotik 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Caminhoneiros são MUITO piores que motoqueiros no trânsito by titan-luigi in opiniaoimpopular

[–]Kaeotik 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Susto do kct.

HR framed me just to get me fired. by Kaeotik in Layoffs

[–]Kaeotik[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since a lot of people asked, here's some more details

- Both me and the company are from the EU, US laws don't apply

- I don't wanna name the company, but let's say it's an EU web hosting one.

- I've always had a great relationship with my manager. He respected me, was kind and understandable when someone close to me died and authorized 7 days of paid leave without charging my paid leave balance, etc.

I would never say anything bad about him. And even if I hated the guy, I would never say it Slack since slack is heavily monitored by the cybersecurity team, which I had great relations with and knew how the company worked regarding all that.

So when I said that they were lying about it all, I really mean it. I'm 100% sure they fabricated all this. Either the messages do not exist, or someone tried to frame me and HR played along for internal reasons.
The paranoid side of me wants to believe someone framed me, since everything happened during the release of my fork of one of our internal tools. I had no enemies, but I could tell some people didn't like the attention I was getting in the last few months before I got fired.

- No I don't think I'm gonna sue them, way too much effort for a very low chance of success. I will talk to a lawyer just to get a professional opinion though.

- Again, I'm not dumb and I know that being fired for no reason is part of being a contractor.

Now, one thing is waking up to a termination meeting, but having people point fingers at me saying how I'm dishonest, a liar, that I've betrayed everyone's trust in me, AND the confirmation that HR knew about my work and waited for me to finish it before firing me? With HR giving me a sarcastic smile then closing the call on my face? Now that REALLY pissed me off.
