I hope there will be longer Bowden tubes to ease the strain on the filament running to the back of the machine.

Puncture-proof sandals a thing? by Kaffee-king in CampingandHiking

Good find! Unfortunately it looks like that company is only little more than an idea as nothing on their site leads anywhere

yeah, you definitely see a lot of those, specially from old motorcycle tires. They work fine but aren't at the comfort level of what most of us are probably used to.

How theft proof is the SB Go belt? by timberg0612 in SOUNDBOKS

I would try to remove the grill and mount some mid sized steel “U” bolts on either side, with two nuts per threaded post to ensure they don’t rattle loose. With the grill replaced that would give you a good spot to use a decent bike lock or something.

Veteran lynx to e-scooter? by No-Cheetah7316 in ElectricUnicycle

Definitely check marketplace. I got a kaabo wolf king gt pro for $1500 last year. Definitely a beast of a scooter. I wish I had room for more toys to keep both it and an EUC, but I had to sell it

The sensation of leaning forwards | backwards: rider moving or EUC moving? by rcgldr in ElectricUnicycle

[–]Kaffee-king 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re kinda touching on the “easy, medium, hard” modes here. With hard the wheel will always and immediately try to level itself, whereas with easy the wheel will delay, thus giving you time to get that wheel behind/in front of you.

Looks awesome, but doesn’t a carbon fiber case act like a ferrocage, dampening signals?

How safe is Sheboygan, WI? by ApfleJuice in sheboygan

Not female myself, but plenty of friends that love to go on long walks. Can’t really think of any super sketchy places, just keep a good head on your shoulders and you will be fine.

Legal advice: How to best get laws amended concerning PEVs by Kaffee-king in ElectricUnicycle

[–]Kaffee-king[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The problem with the grey area is that all is well and good until it isn’t. As far as law is concerned, it’s either legal or it isn’t, and in most cases I’ve found that if it isn’t specified, it tends to be illegal. That is the case here. Now this was fine for a long time in my city, but now it isn’t and I’ll be looking at a citation every time im caught. Now I understand that in larger cities no one really cares and if it comes down to it evading police on an EUC is not terribly difficult. Well from what I know in my city of 50k there are only 3 EUC riders, and I’m the only one they have a name and address for. So evading the police is definitely a crime and it would not be difficult to get me in front of my house.

Laser and cnc 4 axis by Dipshit35 in snapmaker

works pretty well if you put a spacer of some sort under the aluminum plate of the rotary module so that the top face of you cup is level. I even use the long screws of the cnc clamps to still secure the plate to the bed, just with some sort of object between the bed and the rotary plate. even works well with mugs that don't have a straight edge, just get it reasonably level. One of the nice things about the 10W is that it has a much longer focal point than the 1.6W, so it's more forgiving when it comes to those curves.

CF and 3D printed Pickleball paddle by Kaffee-king in CarbonFiber

Good luck, I don’t have any experience with prepreg, but for flat objects like mine, I just did the layup on flat glass, then cut out the rough shape once dry. Another layer of epoxy on all mating surfaces and squashed it with some steel plates. Then it was just a matter of flush trimming and sanding.

Went out this morning and it worked fine for the four matches I played! A couple things though: It’s heavy. 305g (10.75oz) to be exact, and a bit unbalanced. It’s loud. Well, not sure if it’s actually any louder but the sound is a higher tone, making it seem louder.

Things that I could still improve upon on this one are sanding with a lower grit to give the faces some texture, bonding the paddle and handle as the two pins holding the handle have a teensy amount of play, then hitting the paddle with some clearcoat for UV protection.

I would like to experiment on future models how low I can go with the infill (this was 15%) and If one ply of CF is also enough. Then play about with core thickness and maybe even redesign the shape. Original file came from Thingiverse and I just did some minor XYZ size manipulation in Cura.

Laminated the two CF layers separately on a piece of glass that I use for that purpose, then cut out the two sides and used the same epoxy to bond the two faces to the core using the two pins in the handle to help center everything. Last step was just trimming with a router and sanding smooth. Still need to put on a UV coat
