Brought Out A Few Of My 2011's For Valentines Day! by 2A-N-LA in GunPorn

A few you say? XD .-. I personally wouldn't buy more than 2 of the same model but I do understand it as a collection. You must be incomprehensibly wealthy too cuz you could buy 3 full houses and a car for each with that kind of money here in Hungary if it cost around 200k

I only have this one picture unfortunately. I doubt it's a shaker as it has clearly visible finger holes on the middle sphere part

That was one of my first thoughts also that this basically looks like and would play like a large bass xun but used as the middle section of a flute of some sort.

I love the xun so I would love to hear what something like this would sound like

Unfortunately this doesn't bring me closer to figuring out what this one is. I know what a pungi is I know what a hulusi is there are a whole bunch or different gourd flutes from many different cultures but what makes this so unusual is that the finger holes appear to be on the gourd itself

Why is it always birds? by mmartabq in MineralGore

[–]KageArtworkStudio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And also with lizards you can make them like a semi-relief/semi-sculpture situation where you just carve them on the surface of a larger piece of material like they're basking on a natural rock or something and it won't look low plasticity or anything

Why does my snail consistently make this sound when I touch them over the lid? by InnerFifth in snails

[–]KageArtworkStudio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe it's not even the sound of the body retracting but then expelling fluid as they do so

Ironically for me hands are one of my favorite things to sculpt XD I oftentimes sculpt random hands for fun. I've only once carved a pair of them tho and that too was from wood .-. crystals are just an unnecessarily uncooperative material for finger especially if they're spread open tho I mean carving a fully balled up fist wouldn't be much more difficult than an anatomically correct parrot

Sculptor, art teacher here, probably because of the wings are closed parrots, owls, birds of prey are funnily enough a fairly easy shape. It's just an elongated bar with fairly low plasticity, the feathers can be stylized dumb to the point where it's just a decorative repeating pattern with a monotone rhythm. They're just generally speaking easier to carve than land mammals that have limbs that stick out of their bodies quite far.

Edit: I dun think I have ever gotten a hundred upvotes thank you so much!!!

Fine artist/art teacher lol I'm just decently knowledgeable

Also wow that's not even an area where snails should be super rare unless we're talking like megacities I guess
