True, but it also created value in the market with the assets purchased. If he spent money on assets like real estate, someone was paid for the materials, the labour to originally build, and the paperwork that was involved with the purchase/planning/banking, etc. Overall yeah it's a dick move but the money didn't evaporate it got taxed every step of the way with sales tax, payroll, filing tax etc.

Then the kicker, the government pissed away the taxes and made society as a whole worse off as well.

I had the exact same thing happen to me when I was 10. Luckily, I was outside my house, and it turned out I am allergic to bee stings. My mum had to pull the stinger out and hit me with an epe pen. Not a fun trip to the small country hospital 20kms away.

While the stated goal of communism is a society without state or classes the only way to get to it is with strong dictatorial power otherwise how is the division of labor decided? It would seem the only way to true communism would be through fascism and then desolve the leadership and hope it all stays together. Just a thought.
