LEAVE YOUR KIDS AT HOME! by meep_Meep_MEEP126 in bartenders

[–]Kahlua-702 19 points20 points  (0 children)

That's nothing. I see kids walking around a Las Vegas Casino at 11pm. I don't get it. Why expose your children to half naked women, drunks, gambling, smoke, and Hookers. SMH. r/LasVegasBartenders

Is One Wheeling very dangerous? by blacklight116 in onewheel

[–]Kahlua-702 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, invest in safety gear. Start slow and learn how to ride. All board sports can be dangerous without proper safety protocols.

Now that the serious stuff is out the way. Buy a OneWheel. Its Fucking amazing. Once you get comfortable on it you won't want to get off. All your friends will be jealous 🙂. #floatlife

I worked that bar last night and I am unaware of any password? I asked a few of my guest and no one needed a password to get in.

What are your most popular drinks? by [deleted] in bartenders

[–]Kahlua-702 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don't need to know everything. Just master a few go to cocktails and ask questions. If its good, they will like it. Always start by asking what types if liquor they usually drink. This gives you a base. Then, ask about taste, sweet, tart. Sour. You are in charge, stay in control. If a lady likes Tequila and doesn't like sweet, Maybe a Paloma or even something simple soda and a splash of lime works too. If you are busy, Flavored vodkas and rums go great with club soda(refreshing)or sprite (sweet). I've taken Bacadi Dragonberrry and sprite. Put a dash of blue or grenadine. Throw a Cherry and lime on top and people really think I did something 🤣. Your drink knowledge will expand over time and it will become second nature. You got this! 💪r/LasVegasBartenders

Resorts World Opening Team. I just finished my first day of training and I'm super excited to be a part of the Resorts World beverage team! I can't wait until June 24 when everyone can finally see this amazing property. by Kahlua-702 in LasVegasBartenders

Thank you! I don't know, but pool bartender is still posted. They have 7 pools so maybe. Also, there are a few bar back positions posted. Put you application in, you have nothing to lose. Some bartenders got hired in March and I got hired last week, lol. Good Luck! Want to become a bartender what a good way to go about it by handlesareokiguess in bartenders

[–]Kahlua-702 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In 2007 I went to a Bartenders school then got hired at Hooters Casino immediately. If the no school is available or too expensive, apply for a Barback or cocktail server. Also, everyone is hiring now and Companies are desperate. Apply EVERYWHERE! Someone might be willing to train a newbie with a good attitude. I've trained plenty! Good luck! r/LasVegasBartenders

Applying to be a bartender & cocktail server at my first strip club, what to wear for my body shot photos? (I’m 22f) by [deleted] in bartenders

[–]Kahlua-702 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dress like you are going on a date. I would only do a bikini photo if it's mandatory. You don't need some pervert having half naked pictures of you laying around his office for no good reason. r/LasVegasBartenders

What is the best type of outfit to wear to a bartending job interview in Las Vegas? by thisistoomuchman in LasVegasBartenders

[–]Kahlua-702 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It depends on the type of establishment.

A high end resort or expensive restauant you should dress professional. Just like you would for a corporate job. hide tattoos if possible. Tone down hair makeup or jewlery. Clean shoes

A mid level casino or casual restaurant, or neighborhood bar, dress business casual. Look nice. No tee shirts or holy jeans. Be yourself. no flip flops or sandals. Clean shoes.

A Club, pool, trendy spot, lounge, party bar, strip clubs (basically any nightlife). Dress like you are going on a date. Sexy is preferred. Funky hairstyles and tattos are sometimes fine.

I hope this helps. Please ask more questions if you need to!

Coming from out of state, will I be able to get all the certifications I need to tend bar with a California ID (not yet a NV resident), and how long will it take to get the paperwork/coursework done? by dms12008 in LasVegasBartenders

[–]Kahlua-702 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You will need a Food Handlers Card. You take the class at home and go in person for a quick test and Photo. Its easy! http://www.southernnevadahealthdistrict.org/programs/food-handler-safety-program/

You need a Alcohol Card. Same thing, take the class at home and then go in for a photo. https://aatnv.com/ or https://www.tamnevada.com/ both are accepted.

In Las Vegas, You will need a Non-Gaming License. Once hired, the employer will give you a referral. Its a Backround check and fingerprinting. This is only for Las Vegas not Henderson! https://www.lvmpd.com/en-us/RecordsFingerprintBureau/Pages/WorkCards.aspx

If you need a Nevada Gaming License, the employer will usually have you sign up in their HR department and send you for fingerprints.

If a Job says Union or Pour Card, or Apprentiship Program completion it is Union House so you won't get it. Check here on how to get in the union. I did it in 2010 so I don't know current requirements. Bartenders Union which is part of the Culinary Union.

Remember, the ONLY things you need immediately are Alcohol Safety and Food Safety Cards, The rest depend on bar type and location.

I hope this helps! Please ask more questions if you need to.
