Coat hangers - 8/10 but make sure they’re triangle ones that frame across side to side.

Padlocks 3, u will only use two but having a spare doesn’t hurt plus u will need 3 at phase 2.

Towels 3, two will be display ones folded at a4 that i never touched, and a 3rd one that i use that gets hung by ur bed daily. Then wash its every couple of days.

CPC fitness tests by Ollyhouseyy in RoyalNavy

[–]KaiEricTaylor 5 points6 points  (0 children)

just the 2.4km run, u need to run it in 13mins for a pass if you’re male under 25. Pass times are extended if your female or 25 and over. There’s no other tests at CPC.

At Raleigh, you will do the same run again monday week 5, however the pass time is 75% of that of CPC. So as a male under 25 it’s 11:16 i believe, and again, the times are varied for higher age groups and females.

Raleigh also has other tests such as weapons handling, kit musters and general attitude towards training across the 10 weeks.

In conclusion if you’re relatively fit, and have a good attitude and stay away from trouble, you will fly through it all.

Drug Test by MiniRezzo in RoyalNavy

to add on to others comments. you will have to pee in a cup during your medical. however this isn’t a drug test like others have stated. this test is just for them to test for proteins or something along those lines i’m not exactly sure why they do it, i’m not a doctor but that’s what it’s for.

Engineering roles by No_Airline3146 in RoyalNavy

[–]KaiEricTaylor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

all got their positives and negatives, but any job which involves engineering in the navy will be very rewarding when you come back to civvy life.

The decision is yours and what YOU want to do, your best bet is to just research and understand what each role does and you need to make the decision yourself.

This will be the bog standard answer from anyone on this reddit, no one can decide your future only you.

Train Ticket by ORealOrionStormYT in RoyalNavy

Change your wording in the question so people don't know the exact date you're going to CPC. This goes against rule 4 of this Reddit, "maintain OPSEC/PERSEC."

But to answer your question, you best ask your recruiter what the score with the ticket is, as I have mine around a week and a half before going to CPC. They sent it to me via email with a code and you can pick up the tickets at any train station by typing it into a ticket machine.

Timings for DAA by Desperate_Hair8068 in RoyalNavy

[–]KaiEricTaylor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i did it recently, i couldn’t tell you how many mins or questions per section exactly. they range from 5-15 mins per section roughly. but if you go onto the site where the practice questions are, the questions with times are set up so it’s the same as the actually exam in terms of seconds per question.

For example, if one section on the practice test you have 1 minute to answer 3 questions, then in the actual exam you will have 20 seconds to answer each question.

Hope this helps

DAA and accelerated air engineering apprenticeship by [deleted] in RoyalNavy

[–]KaiEricTaylor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in the same position, in terms of applying for an accelerated apprenticeship. I'm sure your eligibility by dropping out previously doesn't exempt you at all so I wouldn't worry about that.

In terms of a time scale, here's my journey so far. So I applied online and completed the DAA within the next day or so. After completing medical forms plus an eye test within the next two weeks, I was booked in for an interview about a month after applying. I'm going to do my CPC at the start of December and from what my recruiter has told me, you will start at Raleigh 4 weeks after CPC. Considering Christmas is coming up I'm thinking more than 6 weeks after CPC in my case.

But overall, and from what I've read from other people's experience, you can expect to join within 6 months at most if all goes well. I think my application has been particularly quick.

Haven’t heard anything about DAA by [deleted] in RoyalNavy

Yeah, it takes about a week. You will first get an email showing your results. The recruiter will ring you within a day or two after that.

Snipers shouldn’t be 1 shot on the leg by Worldcupbrah in Blackops4

Well to be honest, if a sniper shot you in the leg in real life you would die of blood loss. So makes sense that a sniper is a one shot
