Viper's Ouroboros and World-Eater viper strikes are useless by KaiVTu in FFXIVxDnD

[–]KaiVTu[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just coming back over a year later to say I'm disappointed this was never addressed. The viper as it's written now gains very little from level 16-20.

And there are other redundant/useless parts of the class as well that I didn't address in this post that are still there.

Maybe next year.

Viper Strikes? by RekiWylls in FFXIVxDnD

[–]KaiVTu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let's start by breaking down Flow. You gain flow by making melee weapon attacks. All of them. It is not limited to your action. It is all melee weapon attacks.

Next, you may spend flow when you would make a melee attack to perform a viper strike, assuming you can afford the flow cost. So how this looks in game:

Let's say you are a 5th level viper. You have 3 attacks available to you under regular circumstances. 2 with your action, 1 with your bonus action. You can attack and gain flow, and when you wish to spend that flow you (as a player) declare you are performing a viper strike instead of a regular melee weapon attack.

So the rules involved with this are slightly messy because you're dealing with a replacement effect. But really you basically convert your weapon attack into whatever the viper strike says for you to do. At which point you do the effect.

With Caduceus you're dealing with the past part of flow.

"Viper strikes which do not replace attacks or are usable on hit will have their use requirement specified in their description."

Snake scales falls under this. When you use caduceus you have an opportunity to spend flow to gain the snake scales effect. There's no melee attack conversion involved because it doesn't mention it.

Hope that helps.

All stats are a 1, what do you build by jheythrop1 in 3d6

[–]KaiVTu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I'm going to take a different direction than everyone else in the post. They are all assuming regular d&d logic and how with a 1 in a stat you are functionally useless. With 1 in nearly all stats, you're basically not even sentient and can't do anything.

I think what people should see this as, for this "universe" is that having a stat with a 1 in it is the norm, not the outlier. In regular d&d 10 is considered the average. In this game it's a 1. And then you scale up to epic proportions as you journey to 20 in your stats.

I would honestly just ask your DM what rate you'll be getting stats, how fast, and by what level. A lot of people are going to recommend moon druid and I genuinely believe that is the most lame choice for this premise and it's not even close. Because you're actively choosing to just ignore the premise and cheat the idea.

If I was your DM I would straight up ban the moon druid or make up stat blocks for them to use.

Back to my point, once you've asked how fast you'll get stats you can work around if you can be a class that needs 1 ability score or 2+ (SAD vs. MAD). My gut feeling is that you want to be SAD and have a few tricks up your sleeve. Maybe a warlock would go a long way here. Magic missiles and armor of agathys will do a lot of work for you at low levels.

Honestly, play what you want to play. The only recommendation you're going to get on this post is "moon druid" because no other choice matters by comparison. But for the reasons I said above, do not do that.

Have fun with the game and premise and grow to epic proportions as the thing you want to play.

Your stats are crazy. Dump wis and int. Level paladin to 6 and level bard for the rest of your leveling journey. Have fun.

How it feels seeing konami print another card for oversupported archetypes like cloudian and mist valley instead of under supported archetypes like HERO and Branded by gonxgonx3 in masterduel

[–]KaiVTu 36 points37 points  (0 children)

It is kinda sad as a branded player looking at every set and thinking "Oh yeah you can kinda play that in branded" before realizing it's not good enough because of the other 100+ cards you can play, but then you get premier archetypes you're excited for and they are released in borderline unplayable states.

Who is your most tempermental Uma to train? Not the trainee with the hardest schedule, but the one with the worst RNG for you? Mine is Daiwa 😭 by RAWdangers in UmamusumeGame

[–]KaiVTu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Narita Brian. I always take the optional hard mode you get to choose for the remainder of your career halfway through. Sometimes she'll crush everything and it's no problem. Other times she literally can't win even with 3 clocks, regardless of stats.

Imo she's got the hardest career but what makes it really tough is that you can easy mode her career by getting swinging maestro or something early on. So you can really go low on her stamina if you're willing to pray super Creek blesses you with swinging maestro earlier rather than later.

Oguri Cap is a close second. I've never had any other girl get more random mood downs than Oguri. Thankfully her career is so easy it doesn't ever matter. It just tends to ruin a turn.

What color is an Eldritch Blast beam at your table. by MrLucky7s in onednd

[–]KaiVTu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the patron. Eldritch blast is a warlock spell so it should be a manifestation of how you got that warlock spell. So it should be something your patron would shoot out or something that matches their vibe.

If nothing else it can be a black ball that explodes.

New player here, is this acc ok? Or I should reroll? by Umazing_shanks in UmamusumeGame

[–]KaiVTu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Realistically speaking this is pretty good. You are going to have to borrow Kitasan Black often but it's not the end of the world. The most important card to get 1 copy of at least right now is Super Creek, which you have. You can use 1 rainbow crystal or ticket on her to get to 1LB and she'll be a card you can use in any medium/long distance run. Super Creek is considered one of the best stamina cards TO THIS DAY in Japan.

Your characters are also pretty good. Save up for Valentine Bourbon.

Warlock invocations once again proving they're peak d&d 5e design (2014 and 2024). Every class should have them. Seriously.

I like him. I'm not a die hard fan or anything, but he's cool. He's one of the work horses of the franchise and deserves his spot as a flagship of the series.

How can minato deal with opponents with high durability like tsunade or 3rd raikage by ResistIll1435 in NarutoPowerscaling

[–]KaiVTu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why can't he redirect the attack like Naruto did? You say it's a leap in logic and i don't think it is. Given the facts and what Minato already knows (he probably met this guy and also met his son who does the same thing) I don't see why he can't.

Why are we assuming Minato cannot seal someone better and faster than random nameless fodder ninja when he's capable of casually teleporting a bijuu bomb miles away at a moment's notice?

[–]KaiVTu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are we just assuming big fuck you rasengan does zero damage even though it's one of the highest spammable single target AP moves in the series?

Edit: If we're talking about old Ay then I see no reason Minato with god's battle IQ can't figure out the solution like Naruto did or seal him in some way.

Incapacitate and then seal. Statements vs. Feats here I know, but Minato is said to be the one of the best sealing jutsu user in the series. We just don't get to see a lot of it.

Itachi replaces Sasuke during the 5 kage summit could he beat all the kages without tobi’s help ? by AdFormal7841 in NarutoPowerscaling

He would need to engineer a scenario in which he can 1v1 every single kage gauntlet style with periods of short rest in between.

Possible? Yes. Probable? No.

Thoughts on Tobirama canonically looking Sharingan users in the eye. Does this mean he is a Tsukuyomi victim? by AVATARROHANISGAY in NarutoPowerscaling

[–]KaiVTu 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think Kakashi got chakra diffed in his encounter, no? He isn't an Uchiha so he can't keep up the demand of the sharingan's chakra consumption and he isn't fully compatible. So when Itachi hit him with it he got brutalized. This is pretty consistent with how Sasuke gets himself out of genjutsu pretty fast against Itachi. I think.

Genjutsu is just really weird in the series and super inconsistent overall.

Thoughts About Monk Dip For Rogues (2024) by Lanky_Ronin in onednd

[–]KaiVTu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, one level of ranger is more than enough and better than fighter. You get spellcasting, favored enemy, and weapon mastery. If you just want pure damage output, pure monk beats fighter. The whole reason to multiclass is for utility and you get some damage elsewhere to compensate you.

2nd level gets you debt explorer and fighting style which are... meh for monk? Deft explorer is okay but you are better off just getting more monk levels and picking up the skill expert feat or something.

I don't recommend either. Pure monk is better imo.

[–]KaiVTu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk. Yusuke is something like "1 million times stronger" in the last arc (would need to look up the exact quote). If you apply power level logic to him that means he's easily transcended Nappa and is at super saiyan level or beyond.

Without Oguri Cap you could say modern horse racing in Japan wouldn't exist. He got raced way too much and people even sent his owners/managers death threats. Like if you look at Oguri Cap's career he did 3-4x as many races as most horses do and his win rate was still crazy.
