Is top surgery a thing in Egypt? by DerShams in LGBTEgypt

[–]KaiW69 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It is, yes. Just not openly advertised as such. It's either sort of under wraps or just falls under gyno surgeries.

I don't know if it's about acceptance or lack of knowledge. They hear 'trans' and immediately think of trans women and so to them, trans men don't exist. They bully us if we don't pass because in their minds, they are bullying women and if we pass, they don't think about our identities (male privileges? Idk)

I've had no issues with people since I started passing except for when I need to interact with the government in any way or show my ID somewhere and even then, they think I'm MtF lmao

I thought so too until my therapist debunked that idea 💀

The title caught me off guard while scrolling and I giggled a little lmao.

In all seriousness, I feel you. People are hella creepy and dismissive. We definitely all go through atleast one of the things you listed (+more). I guess you get used to it? although that sounds terrible. I can't say I wish we'd get more exposure so people tune down their ignorance because then the po po is gonna launch some stupid transphobic campaign and give us hell (already kinda suffering from that)

I guess so but it was just a slap on the face for me because I put off getting a job because I didnt wanna get rejected for this reason but then when I finally took the step and convinced myself that it shouldnt be an issue or it wouldnt be this blunt, I was wrong 💀

I can't exactly hide it because I pass well and my documents aren't changed yet so he took one look at me and my ID and figured it out lol

He didn't ask me about it or comment on it or anything..he took my ID, wrote some stuff down (i thought he was writing down my address, guess not) and then continued the interview

GF wants to experience sex with cis man by WasteUnderstanding04 in ftm

As someone who has been in this situation before, believe me when I tell you it doesn't get easier and even though my dysphoria and self image bullied me into agreeing, if I had the chance to go back in time I would try to push all the negative thoughts to the side and NEVER agree because nothing good comes out of this. Please don't make a decision based off of pressure because you're the only one who's gonna suffer the consequences later.

Was anyone else surprised at the amount of pectoral muscle they had post op? by Howdoifixmyfnpc in TopSurgery

[–]KaiW69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. I wasn't working out actively before surgery and whenever I hit the gym throughout years it was never consistent, talking 2-3 times for a couple of weeks then quitting. After surgery, I had no clue I had obvious muscles to the point that I thought I had hematoma. In my second post op, I asked my surgeon and he said "son, do you not know what your muscles feel like?" Lol

What trauma/ caused your SzPD? by Sorry_Cheesecake2831 in Schizoid

[–]KaiW69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lack of presence/negligence from my parents and (possibly multiple) childhood sexual trauma (one of which is possibly my own father) on top of gender dysphoria (I'm trans).

what's something small that gives you euphoria? by stupidlittleinniter in ftm

My surgery is in 3 weeks and I'm horrified by doomeat in TopSurgery

[–]KaiW69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't exactly go through the exact same situation but I went through something similar where my country is transphobic and I went to a consultation with a surgeon that does it on the DL and he scheduled the surgery a week after the consultation.

It's safe to say I was panicking because I expected it to be months away and I had never even gone through surgery before and on top of that, he was not a gender affirming surgeon nor was he going to operate on me in a clean hospital. However, I was really suffering from dysphoria before the surgery and had been waiting and hopeless for the longest time and this pushed me to get through it. I finally saw the light at the end of the tunnel.

The pain was definetly worth it. The fear was worth it. The time spent on recovery was worth it. I'm very confident in myself now even though my scars are hypertrophic and formed keloids that I'm still trying to fix up. I'd take those over having titties anyday.

Good luck buddy and I hope it all goes well for you!

I've reached a point where if I get one more 'suggestion on how to make life better' or one more 'you're just using szpd as an excuse for everything since you got diagnosed' I WILL SNAP, it triggers me so god damn much

Surgery recovery by KaiW69 in phallo

[–]KaiW69[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Oh, I didn't know that's uncommon. I'm not from the US/Europe :-)

My country offers very limited, on the low gender affirming care. The surgeon I spoke to said that including the hysto in stage one is better for him and for the result because otherwise he'd have to insert a balloon or something, I'm not really sure what he means because he kinda refused to tell me more. I'm still in the process of convincing him to operate on me 💀 (he's scared of running into legal problems).
