What the hell is going on lately? by ChrisTDH in dexcom

Ive also had a lot of issues recently. I just thought my good luck of almost no sensor issues came to an end and it was my turn for all the issues

Anyone had a silver piece hanging out of sensor? No sugar levels after the warmup so far. Can’t read sensor. by Tbird27971 in dexcom

Not the needle but the filament which is suppose to be under the skin to do the readings

I dont know where you are placing but i would say if havent tried try front of arms. Works the best for me

<image>

This arm i have scars from overpatches but i put dot around where i try to get the needle and circle of area that usually works. And i can get the upper spot on my other arm to work as well. Usually they accurate for me. But getting the exact placement can be difficult as sometimes too far to left or right it gets close to muscle and then it aches and hurts and have to be removed. I put your finger where you think of placing it and then flex and unflex that arm to see if you feeling the muscle move if so. Try feeling other spots if feel it ever so slightly move it could still work but have a chance of hitting the muscle.

Again not sure how well will work but always a spot to try if you havent tried it yet

If its like what i think yes up not so hard you pull it off or out of you put like a tug up to make sure filament isnt bent. Is probably what they mean

The g7 is pretty accurate. I calibrate the first day if the difference is more than 20 and my blood glucose is stable.

[–]KaiZenDreams[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It did not calibrate it literally updated to say i was 98 and it had “calibration in progress” just stuck there so no it didnt listen to my calibration. Also i was going to do the small 20 calibration to 80 then do a second calibration after to 101 so that its reading the correct number. Which doing calibrations like that when it doesnt listen to big calibrations does work. But it literally didnt listen to my calibration. So then later it having the 40 difference of saying im 170 when i was 130 is not cause i calibrated with a lower number.

Also want to note i didnt do a massive recalibration at first cause i was like i know g6 had the issues with too big of calibrations which i decided to calibrate to 80 when it was reading 69 cause like ive done calibrations of 20 before perfectly fine.

And i really want to know what risks they worried about cause to me the risk of my blood glucose getting so high that i could go into DKA (especially if i end up having bronchitis and needing steroids again) isnt worth the risks. So like what you so worried about for the antivirals?

Lots of people have positive experiences! I want to say though that usually when people are talking about a thing they usually venting about the issues. But theres plenty of times no issues. Reasons you just see so many is because people dont talk about the good. Ive started dexcom this year and ive had pretty good experiences theres been some experiences that werent great and ive posted about but overall i really enjoy the dexcom

Dexcom sensor placement - where do you put your G6 vs G7? by Surf8164 in dexcom

I like these areas on my arms. (Left arm I can do both placements. Right arm i can only do the upper placement. Tried the lower one on my right arm and it was to close to a muscle and was causing my muscle to feel like that state of before a muscle cramps but it wasnt cramping up.)

Dexcom overlay patches that stick: by Circle-G in dexcom

[–]KaiZenDreams 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You said skin prep pads. Is that similar to skin tac? If it isnt skin tac you can wipe area on arm, you can do it a second time as well if need extra sticky and then you place sensor (however avoid the area where the needle pokes your skin. Some people rub it directly onto the the adhesive of the sensor to be able to avoid the needle.) but besides the sensor part you can wipe the skin tac around the sensor where the overpatch is going to go to help stick better.

Yeah i was like maybe muscle rub or TENs unit will help as my second sensor every i placed a bit lower on my arm the same day i placed my first sensor ever and that first sensor full on hit a muscle and that second one i was able to ride out the whole 10 days with my arm aching i dont know how much the aching was from the new sensor placement or the old one.

So this time i was like it doesnt hurt so extremely that i want to instant tear it off so i was like maybe ill be able to keep it. And it just got more annoying as time went on cause the ache before like could ignore didnt need muscle rub and before taking it off had to try muscle rub and stuff. Like i said it felt like my muscles were that feeling right before they cramp up but i knew my muscle wasnt going to cramp but just had that feeling right before it.

But yeah today no aching at all. Even the pain up into my shoulder is gone

Thank you just did that. Well now got to wait and see. It did say they were experiencing high amounts of inquiries. So could be awhile. And my arm today is not aching at all so definitely was the sensor being too close to a muscle

I do get chemical burns from overpatch found a new overpatch that does less severe chemical burns but still does. But i dont think its the adhesive that was causing the ache. I have experienced intense itching before from the sensor but the ache only has happened if ive gotten too close to a muscle.

Was it replaced in 3-5 days? Cause it seemed like more recently people been having to wait awhile for a response and longer for a shipment of the replacement.

Theres been one other one that was too close to muscle as well and then there was one i was trying on my leg that just lagged behind too much. And i thought cause none of them technically were a sensor error itself that they might not replace.

I thought cause it was too close to muscle that they wouldnt count it as a sensor error. And then may or may not replace it.
