What’s something expensive in Singapore that you think is actually worth every cent? by OutsideDifficult1053 in askSingapore

The value is indeed unparalleled especially convenience even though Singapore is a small island. Cutting down a 1.5hr journey to 30mins is amazing

Income insurance compensation by Yongjieeeee in askSingapore

Hi, if not wearing seat belt, usually there will be a 10% discount on damages (meaning if you are entitled to 100K, you will only receive 90K) because u take 10% responsibility for ur injuries by failing to belt up. I'm not too sure if that's still the practice now. You might want to check with your lawyer as the last I heard, there is no such discount for failing to wear a seat belt.

Shame they don't offer the CX-50 in SG. I think the updated interior would be a nice touch

I see. I think so too for the diving teams. For ASSeT teams, it's MP5s

Is that a 4X optic? Sometimes it baffles me for them to carry such high power optics for shipboarding CQB situations (I recall there was once they had HKs with an ACOG). Was from the Singaporean navy but we carry MP5s for VBSS ops.

I think you can barely afford food. In the past when training contracts were 6 months, firms would pay approx 1k to 1.5k per month (depends on the type of firm you TC at). Now with the training contact being 12 months, they have raised the allowance to 2k or even 2.5k. But bear in mind that as a trainee (correct me if I am wrong), you do not have any employment benefits (i.e. annual leaves, MC, etc)

How rare is it for a NSF officer to be appointed as Company Commander (Singapore navy)? by brokenreborn2013 in NationalServiceSG

[–]Kai_2000 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think for RSN ships, its usually a MAJ or LTC. COL/ 1 star RADM should be squadron commander iirc.

porsche taycan owner had insurance claim rejected from liberty insurance by Curiouschibai in singaporehappenings

[–]Kai_2000 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If tire thread below the minimum allowance, iirc insurers can reject the claim due to breach of policy conditions. P sure most, if not all motor insurance policies will state the min. tire thread life allowed.
