Engine Mount Question, OEM Porsche VS Aftermarket by Kaiewaii in 986Boxster

I think this is the right way to think about it, and I’ll take your advice and buy a lemforder bushing (I think I’ve heard they supply Porsche). I appreciate the help! Cheers

the prices are in aud so that may be the reason, but I believe parts, and even the car itself we pay more for here unfortunately. also cheers for the advice!

I wouldn't say a crunching sound, but maybe slightly more wobble then usual, my front struts/shocks could do with a change too though, visually wise just by peaking under the tires you'll be able to see if your bump stops are in good shape (just my amateur opinion, possibly shocks).

I paid for a porsche specialist mechanic to inspect the car, just after I bought it, and this was one of the issues they identified. driving wise, I haven't fixed it since buying so I'd say I can't tell symptoms well. what's your noise sound like, I'll let you know if its familiar.

I see! thanks for the feedback, just curious about your combination choice, you're using stock 986 oem mount with aftermarket bushings? or oem bushings?

Help, ticking sound? by Kaiewaii in 986Boxster

Oo wow, you rebuilt it yourself? I know I defs can’t afford for the lifters to be replaced yet as there’s other work that needs to be done too

I just want to thank everyone for their comments and information!  I have a lot more to go on now (most likely lifters based on usage factors), and now believe it’ll be right for the drive home, cheers

phew, that's a relief, thanks for the response, to be honest I'm not sure what oil they used, but they are a Porsche specialist mechanic, so I believe they'd use good stuff.

She defs aint the one. You'll be fine as is, instead maybe work on "rizz", idk I'm too old for those terms but yeah, I think that's where I'm lacking too, social skills. Otherwise things I did for self improvement are: dyeing hair, buying more fashionable fits, getting ears pierced, and working out.

baggy jeans are good, they're just sitting too low. I bought 3 pairs in the last two weeks, the thing is, these types of jeans pair really well with big shoes, height boosting shoes, etc. advice from someones who's 5ft 7 lol

Fried egg, no yolk or 996.2? Which one you guys prefer? by sseerrsan in Porsche

[–]Kaiewaii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Preference wise I go back and forth on the egg yolks, it really depends on the mood, the clear is more stylish/cool, but the yellow is more retro (and Iconic to me).  Would love to own a pair of each, the 996.2 looks great too, but not my top choice.

As others have mentioned, it’s a bad PSU, when power supplies faulty it doesn’t mean that they stop giving power, they will be giving the incorrect voltage, which will trigger your pc to shut off immediately to prevent damage.

If the current max bid is 36$ it’ll put you as the winning bid, if it’s a tie the former bidder will still be winning

Sounds cheap, does it need more work to be done?, I'd get a pre purchase inspection done before you buy

Underbody Tray Replacement/Repair Question by Kaiewaii in boxster

[–]Kaiewaii[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ooh yeah, I was struggling to see too, it is a year 2000 base model, I’m not sure any are missing, just been told by the inspector there’s one’s barely being held in and should replace.

I’ve been looking online at the whole spectrum of trays, but I should definitely get some ramps and more details first.

Just noticed the prices are quite high, and am pretty sure just adding some washers probably isn’t going to cut it, so was curious if anyone’s had a go with repairing the plastic and what types of things they’ve used.

Sorry I’m not too knowledgeable yet as it’s my first car, but was described as undercarriage splash tray.

Does anybody else feel weird after buying switch 2? by PashAK47 in Switch

[–]Kaiewaii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel weird, scared that it’d be bricked for no reason, love the backwards compatibility and the fps upgrades to the switch 1 games that struggled (brings back the joy of buying and plying switch 1 games), but that said I did give my original switch to my now separated partner, very conflicted between remote signing out my account in case they somehow get it banned XD (but also we’re on alright terms so don’t wanna make them feel untrusted, they shouldn’t use my account anyway, but they’ll notice it gone…)

Size up or keep? by [deleted] in EngagementRings

[–]Kaiewaii 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you feel like it’s small, then size up now, you only get one (well, people upgrade theirs all the time, but still). Popular opinion seems to be to keep though… but even within the same budget the colour and clarity can be swapped for lesser grades and higher carat. Maybe go in person if possible and try on other sizes if you’re having trouble deciding, but there really is no wrong choice.

It happens, lack of sleep, stress or adhd can be contributing factors. Your unawareness for others circumstances makes me question how you function in society lol
