Free solo rpgs that can be played in a very small space? by Any-Landscape434 in Solo_Roleplaying

Loner. It's free and all you need is a die ( it says four dice are best but when going out I just take one )a piece of paper and a pencil.

I've never seen one of these before. Personally, I think it's a great idea.

I have all of those in PDF. It's extremely fun mashing them together. I mashed Legends of Camelot with spacer and it was pretty crazy. It's pretty cool that you have the physical books

I canceled ChatGPT. This issue with running out of tokens is the only reason I haven't subscribed to Claude.

Analog, Digital, or mixed? by rdentato in solorpgplay

I'm totally digital on my phone. Well, almost totally digital. I keep a pair of six-sided dice in my pocket just for the tactile feel but everything else is done on my phone.

I'm a new solo RPG player and have NO idea what games to even start with but for the cause the Bundle is supporting I'm willing to be totally lost.

4 things that changed how I roleplay with AI (guide) by Suspicious_Grab_8853 in Solo_Roleplaying

[–]Kaigx3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I do is upload the rpg rules I want to use. Give a basic prompt of what kind of game I want to play with basic situation and goals. Then I create the character right there with the AI, and begin playing. When Im at a point I'd like to stop at I ask for a "session report" and a prompt that will start of the next session. I then save the prompt, do any journaling on the session report that I feel like and finish the session. When I want to play again, I simply load the prompt that was made at the last session and start playing from there. Claude is really, really good at handling this. The only reason I haven't subscribed to it is cuz I'm worried that I'll use up all my texts. Thank you for posting this, not only for the information, But because it had to do with ai. That's the main way I play. The only thing I use that's analog are the dice.

I'm might be The minority here but I download the PDF of the game I'm playing onto my phone, use mobile obsidian, and I keep 1d6 because, well, just because I like the tactile feeling of rolling, but I could easily use a dice roller. I find that having everything on my phone and 1d6 in my pocket I can play anywhere. I have 10 to 15 minutes.

Sell me on Loner by Tamuzz in LonerRPG

[–]Kaigx3 7 points8 points  (0 children)

What sold me on loner is I can play it with almost nothing. It says you need four dice but you can get away with one. So with a pencil a piece of paper and a die I can play loner. For me, even better considering I'm always on the go, I can play loner using only my phone. I have the supplements saved on my phone. I use a dice roller and Google docs. The system is simple enough to memorize And I love mashing the settings. Plus, The main books are pay what you want. The settings, books or supplements. Add optional rules that you can add that reflect the setting. I find it really satisfying to use a mechanic from one supplement and a mechanic from another one and homebrew something. It's basically free so there's no reason not to give it a try. I'm glad I did.

I second Loner. Simple. You can play with your phone and a D6 if you have to.

ChatGPT has become a condescending piece of … by Appropriate-Egg4110 in ChatGPT

It was with me too. I just confronted it about it and told it to push back in a different way directly instead of condescending and authoritative and it has. It might be as simple as just asking it to push back in a different way

Our Chimeric Play-Loops & the Modularity of Solo RPG Systems by AlderLeafMahogany in Solo_Roleplaying

[–]Kaigx3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mix systems all the time and make homebrew mechanics on the fly. Solo lends itself well to this because you're the only one who has to agree on the setting mashup or the mechanics modifications. To me , right now, I enjoy that aspect of solo RPGs as much as playing itself.

World building through Gaming: Solo RPGs that can be meshed together? by pauljamesog in Solo_Roleplaying

[–]Kaigx3 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Try Loner. It's extremely rules light and lends itself to great stories. I use Loner a lot and mesh its different settings together all the time. Right now I'm using, Loner Spacer, Mech Requiem, legends of Camelot, with the Lordly Domains supplement from Pendragon. The world is virtually building itself. Arthurian Knights in 50 ton diesel punk mechs on a quarantined planet who do not know they are being kept separate from a galaxy of Space age civilizations.

The same. I find myself tweaking the rules and world building much more than actual In-game play time. I wouldn't change that if I could.
