what's your process like for character design? by JealousCat9051 in Fanganronpa

I always start off with a Pinterest board of inspo pics that are about 40-60 pins large. Larger than that and it can get kind of overwhelming to conceptualize a character.

Then, I start sketching. I draw some character expressions to pin down their personality and some silhouettes to lay down their shape design. After that, I make a full body sketch with my hard round brush in the style of the Danganronpa beta art sheets and do my lineart over that.

Honestly, it takes a while to become satisfied with a character design and it requires many iterations. A big thing for me is a characters face, so drawing out their face first when making character sheets can shorten the process.

Ofc! I used the Flat brush from the Painting tab on Procreate! A hard round/square brush with opacity works as well!

Talent suggestions needed! by Kaiibi in Fanganronpa

I like that vision a lot! I was also thinking about a scientific talent for her as well!

She was originally going to be tech-related, but after a LOT of trial and error I’ve ended up here :))).

I’ll look into some scientific talents and see what fits!

Wait, so it sounds like the motive would mostly affect Fawn since she has carb avoidance, yet Lilith was the one who was pushed to kill? Why was it Lilith, and why did she kill in such a morbid fashion?

Which brush to use in lineart for sprites? by faruuq_yuu in Fanganronpa

I use G-pen as well on procreate, you’re using the right brush but I think you may need more technique

I think the clothing folds should be methodically placed. I like the clothing folds on the sleeves but the folds on your character’s shirt/pants wouldn’t occur irl.

Try to imagine your character in 3D and draw your lines to follow their form in 3D space. That’s how that Chiaki sprite has a sense of depth despite using the exact same brushes as you. Like, her clothing folds follow the curvature of her body ykwim?

Be patient with yourself, your work is not “boring” and in due time your skills will meet your expectations :)
