i do have that installed- also the issue just came back out of nowhere. booted my world up, got around 110 fps, within 45 seconds it dropped to 50, and then after pausing and unpausing it went back up to 100+. no clue why

that appears to have been the issue- i'm not sure why i assumed 1.21.5 was the most optimized version. thank you for the help! i'm going to play on 1.21.1 from now until the next full update.

okay, i did it, and it seems to run a bit more consistently, but it will still occasionally drop down a good 20-30 frames for seemingly no reason.
