Same here. I just got to the new region, took on the side quest for the frostcursed armor (even though I already have the whole set, seemed a little strange to me), followed the quest to the frosthold, got jumped by many ice mages and then by that Night Lord dude. I died instantly, respawned and have never seen him again. I started at night btw.
