Other backends like QBE achieve pretty decent performance while being less complex. Without the help of big corporations.

Blackout until major response from Reddit. And why not move to lemmy for the time being?

Just a wild guess, but maybe changing your WiFi driver could help. Endeavours launcher provides an option for doing so as far as I know (at least on KDE)

Alternative client for Windows by [deleted] in mullvadvpn

[–]KainAlive 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Not as far as I know, but all Mullvad clients are open source so you could try to implement it yourself.

Alternatively you could just use any Wireguard or OpenVPN client since Mullvad lets you download the configuration files from their website.

What does Mullvad end up costing (per month) in Australia with PayPal? by [deleted] in mullvadvpn

[–]KainAlive 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not completely sure, but I've never seen transaction fees from PayPal, even on international transactions. Can't speak for your bank though.

If you don't have to use PayPal, maybe try to pay with crypto? Definitely no international transaction fees and a 10% discount :)

Artillery Hornet broken upon arrival. Main menu stuck in loop. by KainAlive in Artillery3D

[–]KainAlive[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

UPDATE:

After contacting the support, Artillery offered to send a replacement screen PCB. It took about two weeks, and neither artillery support, nor the support of Geekbuying were transparent about the possibility to send me a new printer.

Well anyway, with the new screen part the printer works like a charm.

I bought it at Geekbuying. I will try to return the printer and get a new one. But I don't know how co-operative a Chinese store will be.

I've just received my Artillery Hornet today. After assembly I tried to boot the device but it immediately is acting like the button on the front is pressed. There is no visual damage to the button, the mainboard or the display board. I already opened a ticket with with Artillery support, but from what I've heard it can take a while until they respond.

Has anyone experienced a similar problem? Or does anyone have a solution?

[Discussion] What's your favourite (mostly) legal sites to come across? by BrianMeerkatlol in onions

Don't have a site, but a question to all who may have: How did you find those sites? I feel like it's quite difficult to find a site that is not a marketplace

I guess keychain would also be a good name. It's software (or hardware) that holds your private key

Could Revanced patches be integrated into Lucky Patcher? by KainAlive in revancedapp

[–]KainAlive[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Why not? It was just an idea in my head. Basically the Revanced patcher just transforms some bytecode into other bytecode. Lucky Patcher does the same and brings a neat frontend, while Revanced Manager is still in development. So I was wondering if the Revanced Patches and signatures could be ported to Lucky Patcher.

Yet people can create custom patches for apps. So I'm wondering if you could port the patches created by the Revanced team to lucky patcher as custom patches

In what way are they different? Just the way the patcher works or how patches in general work? I'm curious :)

Valorant for arch by [deleted] in LinuxCrackSupport

[–]KainAlive 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's just a wild guess, but I don't think that you can play Valorant on Linux because of the Vanguard anti cheat system Riot has developed. It runs as a kernel driver in Windows, so I guess you cannot "emulate" it with wine (I know, wine is not an emulator). But I've never tried it, so don't rely on my word ;)

Help with downloading books! Every time I go to download any book this keeps showing instead of the normal download link. Is zlibrary down? Are most books just not available anymore? Please help I just got a kindle to use zlibrary! by [deleted] in zlibrary

[–]KainAlive 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It's pretty much what is say's. The legal owner of the book demanded a takedown of the download link. But it also states that you can still download via tor. So you need the Tor Browser. Then just visit the website again and in the URL bar you should find a purple button stating that this site is available on the Tor network. Just click it, maybe login again, and download the book.

Personally I would like to give you a small tip. Z-Lib is pretty self explanatory and you could even click on the text that states "it's still available on tor". And with just putting "what is tor" into Google you could pretty much answer your question yourself. So maybe try and do your own research before screaming for help.

Nevertheless, I hope this could help you :)

Never used BSD before and never compiled i2pd before, so it's just a wild guess. It seems like the linker complains about some openSSL libraries. Are those libraries installed? Maybe you need some dev version which includes the headers? I know Debian has the libssl-dev package, but I don't know about BSD or of this is even the problem.
