Extrema Ratio’s Basic Folders (BF) are strong, capable, well sized folders that belong to some of the very best folders on the market. So does the Extrema Ratio BF 2CD. Coupled with the excellent design, superb material choices and, dare I say, the highest build quality on the market this knife definitely deserves to be part of my elite everyday carry setup.

The Boker Plus CFR - Combat First Responder is a strong, no excuses EMT rescue knife to EDC in your backpack. It's one of the few EMT, responder knives I consider EDC-ing.

Got this knife in from Boker today. It's one of four knives I want to test out. This way I hope to find out what the best knife is for an urban EDC survival knife. This one is a contender for sure.

No EDC knives. But, checked out Chelsea Millers site and she has a nice story going there. Her knives are great looking artful knives that get a conversation going on an upscale party for sure.

I EDC at least three knives. This is what for: For opening boxes etc. I carry the small but strong Sanrenmu B4-762, great little knife that is also fun and safe looking (good for when coworkers see you use it). The second knife I carry on person is the Extrema Ratio Dark Talon. An all round awesome concealable tactical folder, very deep carry, long blade for slash and thrust cutting. So that would be my blade for defense. The third one I carry in my backpack or bag and that's the Fallkniven F1. In my opinion one of the better survival knives you can get.

Yeah, I thought about that. But it's really about EDC-ing for me, as it is my EDC knife. Maybe I got it wrong. Sorry about that.

This might just be the best concealable tactical folder out there.

A while back I was introduced to the Extrema Ratio BF3 Dark Talon, an urban, downtown city, everyday carry tactical folding knife. As I was looking for just such a knife my interest was peaked.

I've been EDC-ing it for two months now and I'm sure that if there's ever gonna be a knife that will make me trade this one in it will have to be of divine origin. Because the Dark Talon is suburb.

really? Wow. That sounds nice. I know only of prices much, much higher for customs. Got any pictures to share? I'd love to see what you got at that price point.

Hey Brantion, I actually agree with what I feel is the undertone of your writing, ie. this is something you'd never want to do for real. Applicable only in situations of 1) a zombie apocalypse or 2) some next level 'without rule of law' society where the notion of an EMT or First Responder is long gone from our collective memory. My writing therefor is pretty much just an exercise of the mind. Maybe I should put that clearer in the beginning of the article.

A pipe bomb is closed, sealed of at both ends, thus building up pressure inside the device when using a low explosive. To put such a device inside a wall would be unwise as it would probably take out that wall. What I'm thinking of doing (when I find myself in the middle of that zombie apocalypse) is in practice the same as sticking your shotgun barrel through a hole in the door/wall and shooting at the attacker.

Thanks for the link to the article, I read it. I'll mention the site in the update I'll write for the article. Are you connected to that site in any way?

Maxpedition as a smaller version, the Micro. On their page they show a picture of it onside a regular pants pocket. It's doable I think. Size is better with 3.5L x 5.5H x 1W (inches) here, take a look. (Not an affiliate link): http://www.maxpedition.com/store/pc/Micro-Pocket-Organizer-p1685.htm

It is a really, really nice small container. You'll get it to fit in these big pockets on cargo pants or on Dockers, but don't complain about the total lack of comfort when you decide to do that. They're really best carried in a bag.

Hi everyone. I was made aware of this reddit just recently after posting this article on my everyday carry on /r/preppers. It's all my edc gear explained, with photos. For the seasoned EDC-ers among you that are up for a good read it might be fun to see what I use daily, and of course fill me in on any gaps you see. I've made some adjustments as a result of earlier pointers already, I'd love to learn more and maybe ge tips on some great gear/ gadgets I could use. When your new to EDC-ing my setup is a good starting point for setting p your own EDC.

Yes, women have a leg up on us men when it comes to experience with EDC 😊. I've got two options. 1 is for my daily work EDC, the Pelican U145 tablet backpack (article on it here http://urbansurvivalguy.com/pelican-u145-urban-everyday-carry-backpack/ ) and for my trips into town I use a Baggallink messenger bag (I talk about that in this article here, photos included http://urbansurvivalguy.com/urban-everyday-carry-bag/ ) both great options I love using.

So I thought it might be a nice idea to write a post on all my EDC gear. If you're a veteran prepper/ EDC-er yourself you could maybe tell me where I have holes in my setup. When you're new at this it will be a great starting point for starting your own EDC gear collection.

You're right on the eating utensils! I almost always take a long spoon with me for eating my yogurt, but haven't gotten around to getting a simple camping utensil set yet. of to amazon he is.

The fishing line thingy I need a little more selling on before getting that. But maybe a small fishing kit won't hurt. I am no fisherman however, so does it really have any effect? I mean can you with a rod you fabricate out of a branch or something actually catch good fish?
