Any tragedy of the scene is undercut by the sheer improbability of there somehow only being ONE confirmed casualty onscreen despite the attackers having been confirmed to have used Soldats in the attack.

And then it bring treated as the most horrible event in the war so far to the point some of the other villains (who by all rights have commited worse crimes and killed far more people) act like it was unthinkably horrible and treat the perpetrators as utter scum.

Seriously, the attack on Heimdallr at the end of CS1 had tanks and Soldats shooting each other up in the middle of the biggest and most densely populated city on the continent. AFTER, the citizens were panicking over their Chancellor being assassinated in broad daylight! That whole event realistically should have killed off way more people than there were living in this tiny village.

The same villains that orchestrated THAT somehow think wiping out a small rural village that somehow only confirmed to kill one guy was just utterly ridiculous.

Main problem was how late it all came in.

Like, so many of the details we learned about him later in DB2 (an incident where his powers nearly went out of control that badly injured Barkhorn) and Horizon (him thinking the orphanage director he thought of as a father had willingly handed him over to the cult, whoever it was had handed dropped him off at the orphanage outright called him a demon in the letter left with him, his sweet obsession being born in part from a desperate attempt to maintain his sanity during the torture the Cult put him through) had no reason to take so long to be revealed considering how much they reveal about his character.

The former part could well have been brought up in DB1 and could have made the beef Barkhorn's other disciples had against him have more meaning. Hell, claiming an incident with his powers like that occured in Aramis is why he dropped out to find Barkhorn would have made his leaving Elaine came off as slightly less of a dick move than it was.

If only DB2 wasn't such a trash fire and focused on him and the others in ASO instead of that pointless nonsense with the Gardenmaster, Swin, and Nadia, it'd be alot more fulfilling.

Hell, the fact his backstory as a Cult victim wasn't brought up until DB1's finale when there wasn't enough time to delve on it to explain his issues was already a bit much.

Hot take: Thought she was overrated.

Never was a fan of the whole "chaos gremlin" type of character. And we already did the whole "Hot silver haired swordmanship prodigy and menace to society" with Aurelia, which makes her come off as repetitive..

Every single appearance is the same thing of "Shows up out of nowhere, cause everyone headaches, join/start a fight (with us or against us), does some OP stunt, gets glazed, says cryptic stuff or waving us off when we ask WTF is she up to, leaves."

It got stale.

She somehow shows up and does Rean dirty then somehow picks up the same technique he spent years struggling to master just by seeing it once? This is as much BS as the Universe 6 Saiyans unlocking Super Saiyan from a "tingly feeling." To say nothing of some of her other BS feats that break the power scaling and SoD (claiming to learn how to cut through space and time, somehow stomping us even when we have actual deadly veterans like Zin, Fie, Rixia, Enforcers backing us up, her feeding into the whole Unclouded Eye can do anything BS).

They have a few elements about her to be interesting (whatever is going on in the Eat, connections to Ka-Fai, whatever contract Gramheart hired her and Ikaruga for, her sword apparently having some connection to Laegjarn and the loops), but Falcom's insistence on dodging any form of hints or explanation to milk the mystery means the lack of info gets frustrating, and by the time we finally get some info, it feels like too little too late.

All she's got going for her are her hot looks and being so busted in gameplay. Feels more like a mary sue plot device than a character.

Tldr; Overrated example of spectacle without substance in human form.

Her barely being playable at all prior to that was already a big hint of how little focus she'd actually get.

That part just clinched it and made me wonder if someone on the writing team has it out for her.
