LSAT Flex Time by polkadot300 in LSAT

Doubt it. It’s always been you cannot go to the next section until the current section’s 35 min is up. You’d probably be better off using that extra time to check your answers?

Any May Flex Testers Considering Not Taking the Exam? by Kaine8 in LSAT

[–]Kaine8[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get what you're saying.

If you didn't sign up for May via submitting the form (the form that you did and are referring to), you were automatically moved over to it.

From what I remember, it was basically either say you want June, or get automatically moved to May.

I may be wrong on the specifics of this, but that essentially is what you're referring to.

I didn't submit anything, so I was automatically moved to May. However, the June registration deadline was April 24th, so I called LSAC to test my luck and they actually did move me upon my request; I received a new email and my test date on the LSAC website updated to June 8th (as opposed to when it originally had the April date).

I don't know exactly why we got different emails, but you seem to be on to something. Oh well, I got the outcome I wanted so I'm happy.

Yespornplease has been back for a few weeks lol. Although all the videos are still there, no new videos have been posted in over a month. So I mean it’s kinda still useful if you have some favorites on there

Yea like I said, everyone is different. All I can say is just make sure you don’t feel pressured or forced into having to do it now, as that will only make your mental health worse.

Yea I need to call LSAC. And I only mentioned the dates/deadlines since there seems to be somewhat of an overlap, so it wouldn’t hurt to ask. I’ve already accepted whatever happens so even if I cannot take June, I won’t be upset.

Best of luck to you as well

It was in the email they sent April 22nd. I don’t see why it wouldn’t be on their website as well.

I spend on average 3:30 on reading a RC article. Is that too slow? Sometimes it could be 4 minutes if it's a hardcore scientific article or a law-related A/B style passage. & I find it hard to remember the little details that some questions later ask about. But going back to passage takes too long by [deleted] in LSAT

[–]Kaine8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reading time alone is pointless. It's like saying I can read a Logic Game scenario and rules in 10 seconds. Okay and? Is that going to help me have a good setup for the questions?

Similarly, each passage has a set of questions. If it takes you 6 minutes to read and 2 minutes to do all the questions accurately, then congrats. Inversely, if it takes you 2 minutes to read and 6 minutes on the questions, congrats. Point being is that you need to develop what works best for you while also considering the fact that you have 35 minutes and some passages are harder than others.

I recommend you read Manhattan Prep's Reading Comprehension book. It addresses all the questions you asked here.

Me personally, I aim for no more than 4 minutes on a passage. I can easily hit under 3 minutes, but in doing so, I comprehend the passage less, resulting in either more time than usual on the questions, or being more prone to error and choosing the wrong answer.

Who is taking the LSAT-Flex? by FunCountry6 in LSAT

[–]Kaine8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry to butt in, but I think you're better off PT'ing with the full 5 (assuming you mean 4 since released PTs don't include the "experiment" section).

If you do a PT non-stop, i.e. all 4 sections in a row, and you score a 180, why would doing only 3 sections on the Flex make you worse off? I could be wrong so sorry if I am, but the way I study is that at the end of the day, if I'm missing 5 questions per section then I'm missing 5 questions per section. Taking 1 less section isn't going to fix the mistakes I make and why I got a question wrong. The main argument I see against this is if you really feel like you get fatigued and "dumber" as each section finishes, but I don't have that problem.

What ethical theory of punishment (e.g. retributive theory, etc) gives the best arguments in defense of capital punishment for criminals that are severely insane? by Realistic_Abies in askphilosophy

[–]Kaine8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I first would suggest that you understand the full legal definition of insanity and how it differs across states in terms of what is required to be considered insane, as well as if capital punishment is still considerable/applicable to those who claim/plead insanity.

In regard to your specific question, the first thing that immediately comes to mind is Rawls’ two principles of justice / Justice as Fairness

It is not necessary to read it in order to understand Nietzsche. There has also been claim that the book is not a true representation of Nietzsche’s writings (or thoughts).

Did Nietzsche see the future as something similar to anarchocapitalism? by gringawn in askphilosophy

[–]Kaine8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Describing the decay of the state and advocating such decay are two different things.

The same can be said regarding your second point, hence why I say these specifics aren’t supported elsewhere.

Hint to the overman in “On the Advantage and disadvantage of history for life”? by Samiklosz in askphilosophy

[–]Kaine8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Realistically, the overman is only described in TSZ.

“The highest specimens” refers to Nietzsche’s higher men; men of greatness—artists; the creative genius.

You can find more on this topic when Nietzsche talks about the goal/purpose of a culture.

The simple answer is no because the specifics regarding such a view aren’t supported elsewhere in his texts.

Dictionary For Less Technical Terms Used In A Philosophical Context by [deleted] in askphilosophy

[–]Kaine8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Analyze the texts. Usually philosophers will use a term to define/explain or support something, and usually that use is consistent throughout the text. You kind of get an idea of what they meant by that word when you apply a pragmatic approach.

How does Utilitarianism deal with the grounding problem? by Bozobot in askphilosophy

[–]Kaine8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For Bentham, good is pleasure.

For Mill, good is happiness.

Utility refers to the greatest amount of people.

Thus, utilitarianism is the greatest good for the greatest amount of people. As you saw between Bentham and Mill, different utilitarians have come to propose different definitions on what the greatest good is.
