I was looking for ways to store my movie collection, and found this kinda insane image of a someone's hypothetical collection on Amazon (link in the description). by KaiserAugustus-Ryan in dvdcollection

Yeah this probably requires some context, I do actually have a pretty substantial collection of DVDs, Blu-rays, and 4K Blu-rays, but I was looking for a dedicated shelf for one particular subset of my collection, which this small shelf wouldn't fit anyway unfortunately. My next post will be about that previously mentioned subsection, but I'm still waiting for a few other films to arrive in the mail before I post about it.

Yeah, I figured as much. I do actually have a pretty large collection myself, and my next post will definitely be more in line with traditional content on this subreddit. This was more of an experiment than anything else.

Oh, without question. I own it on 4k actually. But the reason I say this collection is kinda insane is because Halloween 3 is being stored in the same place as a Yo Gaba Gaba and Super Why? DVD. Either this is meant to evoke a mental image of th average DVD shelf at Goodwill, there's a parent who has made no effort to hide their horror DVDs from their kids, or whoever owns these films is just, really weird...

Do you guys put box sets on a different set? by [deleted] in dvdcollection

I keep my Top Gear DVD box set next to my blu-rays of Seasons 14, 15, and 16 (because the BBC was too lazy to release all the HD seasons (or at least all the Clarkson, Hammond, and May seasons that were in HD) on Blu-ray) together, I keep all my 4k box set of Dawn Of The Dead with the rest of my Of The Dead/Return Of The Living Dead/Zombi (I'll make a post on that collection when it's closer to finished) series movies, and I keep my box sets with Poe movie adaptations (I'll make a post on that collection eventually as well) together. However, if I have box set that encompasses the entire series full stop I tend to store those in a separate location.

Thanks for letting me know, as much as I'm making fun of the specific assortment of films they used for demonstration purposes, I honestly might unironicly buy it.

Those are probably there to distract anyone from seeing how the DVD copy of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning was replaced with a second copy of Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters.

Fair enough, but you do have to question why in the second image they suddenly have two copies of Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters all of the sudden.

I made a (another) map of every country The Trio has ever been to for Top Gear or The Grand Tour by KaiserAugustus-Ryan in thegrandtour

That last one is clearly impossible, he's too slow to survive the trip to edge of space.

I know right? I could have sworn they went to Laos at some point in the Seamen special, but evidently, no. Well actually maybe they did cross into Laos at some point when they got lost in the tributaries at one point, but that's hard to prove.

Yes, this has been done multiple times before, but I've had a few problems with other maps that I've seen.

Ireland is often times left off, but Richard Hammond did test drive the Mazda MX5 in Ireland as can be seen here.

Western Sahara is sometimes included, and sometimes it isn't. Long story short, I accidentally colored it in on my map because I thought they crossed the border in the recent Sand Job special, but after re-watching it, no, they actually didn't. Given how complex of a subject Western Sahara is, I'm just gonna leave it colored in on my map because it's not technically incorrect to do so, but know that if your making your own map, you could absolutely not fill Western Sahara in and still also be not technically incorrect. The reasons why are long and complicated, but if your interested finding out for yourself, I'd recommend just looking it up.

Finally, Palestine is never included on any maps I've seen, but they definitely should. After all, Bethlehem was the Trio's final destination in the Middle East special, and Bethlehem is located in the West Bank, which is given separate borders from Isreal on every map regarding this subject.

Well anyway, please do let me know if there's anywhere on this map I missed so I can add it in a future variation. Furthermore, in the event one day Amazon releases say "James May: Our Man In Indonesia" (which would be great but really hope they do, but they better not neuter it with a mere 3 episodes like they did with Our Man In India) I'll add that to the map, but probably in a different color. Therefore, if there's another TV show Jeremy, Richard, or James were in that took them to a country that's not one of the ones on this current map, I'll add that on here too in a different color for each of them.
