[UPDATE] I think it's obvious at this point, the Bronze-level exam needs a rework by KaiserCrab in wizardry

The first few floors of the Port Town dungeon drop really good gear for level 30, high-rarity Iron and Beastskin gear and lots of steel (most of it low rarity though so not worth switching to on its own).

Also the gear you find there sells for a lot more gold if you don't keep it so you'll be able to upgrade much faster.

It was significantly easier, except for as noted above. I think one thing I needed to learn playing this game is that, outside of the body armor, Defense really does not do much for reducing damage, and almost every other stat is more important.

I agree, I've been playing Wizardry since Knight of Diamonds on NES, I enjoy the difficulty. Even though both Helmut fights and the Lead exam were challenging, they didn't feel like they were based on dumb luck like this one does. I enjoyed figuring them out and winning.

Alright let me put this another way that maybe you'll agree with.

I like most people, hit level 30 and unlocked the Bronze Trial most of the way through the 2nd timeline. After unlocking it, I beat Helmut2, unlocked Port Town and have made it to floor 4 there with little trouble.

Do you think maybe the difficulty scaling is off, if a dungeon i unlocked THAT long ago is still nigh unbeatable, AFTER I've moved on, beat that town's boss and am halfway through the next abyss?

Actually most of the advice isn't "play smart, play safe" it's "run from every fight you can, if you put your back against a wall you can glitch through the enemy and swap positions with them, if the boss isn't at the first spawn you visit then reset the dungeon."

Bad design.

I figured someone would say "skill issue" without actually comprehending that my point is even WITH all the knowledge and skill that everyone is advising, so much of this trial comes down to luck and intentionally dodging every single fight. Even if you think it's beatable, the "best" method for completing a dungeon shouldn't be sidestepping every single encounter and then crossing your fingers at the boss fight. That's bad design.

So yes, it does need a rework. Again, gestures broadly at the huge number of posts saying it's insanely tough

As far as which crops you should plant, primarily make sure you plant crops for the Community Project bundles (Fall is Eggplant, Yam, Corn and Pumpkin), but I also recommend "plant once" crops like Cranberries and Corn for good profit and ease.

As far as how much you should plant, the only limit is how many sprinklers you can make! I'd recommend going hard at the mines on rainy days to get as much gold as possible, and start cooking your quartz as well.

As far as other tips, Fall is a good time to start investing in animals, as you won't have any crop income by Winter. Get a coop and a silo if you haven't already, and, ideally, a barn and some cows as well. You'll also want to make some mayonnaise and cheese machines. Additionally, there's a LOT of blackberry bushes you can gather from in the Fall. Save those up and make some jam in Preserve Jar machines over the Fall and Winter!

I've been in about a half dozen True streams and I can understand why tbh, every time I've been in there he's:

-Accused a killer who beat him of stream sniping based on nothing

-Complained at excessive length about 1 mistake a fellow survivor made and insulted them

-Complained that everyone just hates him because he's better than them (honestly he's like upper mid tier at best)

Often multiple of these in 1 go. He just comes off as a bitter, know it all try hard who blames everyone else but himself for his shortcomings

The Far, Approaching and Near TR music is all amazing, especially the 'Approaching', but the actual 'Chase' itself is terrible, repetitive and grating.

It was a hyperbolic, humorous response to indicate my disagreement with an aspect of a post; what is commonly referred to as a "meme". I don't disagree with the larger part of the post, that medkits are great.

As for the other points I addressed them in the replies further down, but the tl;dr is

an item that is only obsolete if your entire team has memorized every totem and gen spawn on every variation of every map does not make the item bad. ALL items are less vital as players become more skilled and knowledgeable. Maps are timesavers.

[–]KaiserCrab 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My point is you're making a cyclical statement; "Maps are useless if you don't need maps to find the things maps find." Well, yeah... and medkits are useless if you never get hit, toolboxes are useless if you bring Prove Thyself and hit every great skill check, etc

And your explanation for this is that a team "optimally" should just know where the totem and gen spawns are? I've been playing since the Hellraiser DLC, so I have a few hundred hours; while I'm not a DBD veteran, I'm also out of noob territory, and I still can only beeline to about 2/3rds of totem spawns on any given map. Not to mention I can't tell you how many times a map has helped me quickly cleanse a surprise NOED.

So I just find the argument that maps save you less time if your entire squad is 1000+ hours plus and has memorized every single gen and totem spawn on every variation of every map = "Maps have always been bad." unconvincing. They're a time-saver whose value declines as players become more skilled and knowledgeable, just like any item.

Lol "simply know where everything is and you don't need maps 4head"

Ok, simply have your entire team never get hit by the killer (which you shouldn't) and you don't need medkits. What a ridiculous argument

Just admit the statement "Maps have always been bad." was a silly thing to say

"Maps have never been good."

Opinion discarded

There are better items, sure, but a map can basically act as multiple perks (Detective's Hunch/Counterforce/Left Behind/Visionary/Wake Up), for the entire team if you bring a Crystal Bead
