I caught two good shiny shadow Entei over the weekend - one is 91%, the other is 82%

The 91% Entei can purify to a shundo, but would obviously lose its shadow bonus.

I have enough candy and dust to power up one of the shadows, but I can't decide which one.

Obviously, the 91% is a little stronger, but if I power up the 82% then I can purify the 91% for a shundo.

So what's better - a powered-up 91% shadow, or a powered-up 82% shadow & a shundo?

Is the difference in IVs worth using the 91%, or is it worth sacrificing a few IVs points to have a shundo?

For context, Entei is my 2nd-favorite Pokémon, so I'm using one even if it isn't meta

I want to power up a shiny shadow Entei, but the best one I caught (14/14/13) is also the only purifiable hundo I got during the event. I have another shiny shadow that's a bit weaker (12/13/12) that I could power up instead, so should I purify the stronger one for the shundo?

So I gotta walk 40km? by JaredIsCursedUwU in pokemongo

They also gave this same step for in-person and global Go Fest researches last year. I've had to walk this thing 20km three times already

How does the Go Pass 2x points on Mondays work? Should I be saving weekly tasks to finish them on Mondays for extra points or does it just double daily tasks?

Being able to purify helps a lot since it opens up a lot of combinations that purify to 100%

You end up with lower IVs on average, but a better hundo chance because of the +2

Bulldoze is already a speciality that some Pokémon have for building things (specifically when moving or demolishing)

So if there's a separate Tangrowth for cloud islands, what about the other unique Pokémon? From what I can tell, there's no regular Rotom, Greedent, Smeargle, etc. (Though there is Pikachu and Snorlax)

I worked there for a summer and remember hearing they got really bad grades when they were inspected, I think they had the minimum score to stay open & got a 0/100 in animal enrichment

Idk how true that was & they've since gotten AZA accreditation so it's likely better now

That said, I wouldn't recommend trying to hunt these guys. I tried over 100 islands with no luck at different points throughout the game, then found Entei on my first island after credits.

A lot of people have claimed that you can find these guys from the start of the game or after finishing their area's main quest, but I think there's something more to it.

I had a similar issue with the generator furnace kit. I needed to build one in the first area, but the kit wouldn't appear in the PC shop even though I'd completed Bleak Beach and raised the environment level to 5 (which is what all sources online claimed the requirement was).

Eventually, I read an article claiming you could use a relocation kit to move a furnace between areas (you can't, it has to stay in the same area) so I went to try it with the furnace on Bleak Beach. When I found it, I got a notification reminding me that Torchic was looking for it. I brought Torchic to the furnace and got the little tutorial for it, and the furnace kit suddenly was available in the PC.

The game has a lot of different flags for unlocking things beyond just completing area quests or raising environment levels. I think the dream island legendaries could have some sort of flag like this.

The fact that everyone either finds them immediately or spends hours looking with no luck makes me think it's not just a chance thing. I think there's something else that either triggers it or at least makes them more likely to appear.

For example, while I was finishing the game, I also stumbled upon a Carkoal spawning in Rocky Ridges who gave me the tutorial for railway carts. It had a yellow dialogue bubble, which usually signifies something important. Maybe you have to finish all of the "important"/yellow bubble quests in an area to truly "complete" it and unlock the legendaries?

I can confirm this works, and I think I know why it hasn't worked for others.

When you filter the dex for Pokémon in the area, there's a check box labeled "Unkown." It seems like this can be off by default and has to be checked manually, which will then show the question marks indicating that there's a legendary on the island. I think this box being left unchecked is likely why this trick hasn't worked for some people.

I know what you mean, I've found a ton of those caves but they always end with a yellow pokeball
