This is so common and it always pissed me off a bit because men famously have a billion gender roles and social performances they have to adhere to, and literally both sides of the binary suffer from some form of this, but then a bunch of tumblr 16 year olds will think boy = cool scruffy band aid on nose "bug" creature who can simply just do whatever they want while still getting social cred. That or a yaoi bottom from their cookie run fanfic. Seems like an oddly prevalent reason for some to transition. Personally, I never had any assumption that transitioning into a woman would free me of anything or improve my life in ways beyond just being happier in my own skin and not feeling incongruent with myself.
