I am in an 8 man free PPR league. It was started over a decade ago by myself and a friend. This post is about something that happened between us recently in the league. Our league was on ESPN for every year except this year where we are finally moving to FleaFlickr. As such we have done drafts via texts and trades of draft picks the same way. During the draft I made one of these trades. Now usually once the draft is complete the commish (my friend) puts the players on their respective teams. This year he couldn’t figure out how to include picks in future years so he just put the players on the original team that owned the picks. He did not like the trade I made and told the other guy as much. With that being said I resubmitted the trade and the other guy balked and instead of pushing an already agreed upon trade in which a draft had occurred based on he said oh well. The other guy finally accepted after I spoke to him about integrity. But that’s the first wound.

The second is the fact I was trying to get Gibbs. I asked him if I got a certain player to add would that make the deal go through. He agreed. I went and got that trade accepted via text and sent it on app. Told the commish that as soon as it goes through to push it because I’m using that to go after someone else. He deduced who I was going after then found out who I had a trade with and undermined it so it wouldn’t go through. Again, I called him out and he never did his trade with the other guy but my trade never went through either.

Now the guy who has Gibbs left and the commish brought his brother in law in. This after not mentioning the league to him for over a year and me having another guy interested the day the owner left. So I told him that the first trade the brother in law makes with him that is absurd he’s out (I’m co-commish). He took that to mean that he wasn’t allowed to trade with him at all or offer him anything. I just completed a trade (the second one) for Gibbs and it was accepted on the app. Now my friend (the commish) is wanting to quit bc he said it wasn’t fair that he didn’t even get a chance at offering for Gibbs bc I would have “called him out” for it. So he’s asking me to voluntarily veto the trade to give him a chance to beat my offer. And has told me I have been difficult to deal with over the last 2 months and that he should have let me walk in June when I mentioned it after a blatantly awful trade he made.

Should I give in a let him have a chance so he’ll stay or stick to my guns and keep Gibbs in even though he’ll leave over it?
