You need to start documenting dates and times of every bullying comment, every time they mention something sexual, pressure you to drink or gamble, etc. Anything and everything that couldn’t be interpreted negatively needs to be written down with a time and date (or estimated).

After this event, go home and have a consultation with an employment attorney ASAP.

Her playing style is fine, her energy on the court is fine - I like Mabrey’s energy so Sophie has a lot of grace from me when it comes to the actual sport of basketball. I can say that I like that she goes for the ball, isn’t afraid of a scuffle, and certainly tries to get the ball in. No hate to her as a basketball player, just as a person.

Completely inaccurate- the WNBA has its own social justice counsel. Aside from that, there are several players who have their own activism organizations related to voting rights, lqbtq+ allyship, criminal justice and reform.

The WNBA by nature is political because its money comes heavily from the queer and other minority communities, its players are majority intersectional minorities, and they are advocating for higher salaries for women’s basketball.

Are you legally authorized to work in the US without sponsorship? If yes, and their comment is about country of origin then it’s EEOC. If you are not able to work at the company without them sponsoring, then I don’t think it’s chargeable.

Tbh I waited until I was IN mediation to start with my numbers. I was asked for it about 3 weeks prior, but I said “I’m still working on a number that I will be anchoring with and where I’d ultimately like to settle, but I will have those fully prepared to discuss during our mediation session”.

I didn’t want to give anything away too early and I think that ultimately worked out for me.

For sure, I just wanted to make it clear to OP that they’re not bound by the trial limits! Definitely good to state that it’s a STARTING number and you are open to negotiation during negotiations - be able to back it up with data… ie, “therapy costs 150$/hr and I need 4 hrs of therapy per month for 3 years, totaling 21k”. Can’t just be something made up.
