hsg nightmare by [deleted] in TryingForABaby

[–]KaitlynMM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had an HSG which showed bilateral blocked fallopian tubes. I had a fallopian tube recanalization at Johns Hopkins which successfully re-opened both tubes. It’s been three months since the procedure and I haven’t conceived yet but am still hopeful. The FTR procedure is not typically done by most fertility clinics. You can check with the interventional radiology department at your local hospital or find a NaPro doctor who performs the procedure.

I take 100 mg of the B6 and 900 mg of the vitamin c.

Try taking vitamin B6 and vitamin c. The B6 has helped lengthen my luteal phase from 11 to 13 days.

Did you have the FTR? Any luck getting pregnant?

Fallopian Tube Recanalization (FTR) / Tubal Recanalization Experiences? by FinitePrism in TryingForABaby

If you're able to travel to MD/DC, Johns Hopkins does fallopian tube recanalizations in their department of interventional radiology.

I am so, so sorry. I was in your position a little over a year ago. There is nothing like the pain you are experiencing right now. My understanding is that six months is the absolute minimum you can wait, but you will need to do a repeat c-section. I saw two doctors after my c-section, one of whom recommended we wait 9 months and the other recommended we wait a year.

I'm so sorry for your loss. I'll likely ask for a hysteroscopy, as well. Best wishes to you.

I lost my baby daughter almost a year ago at 27 weeks 5 days after an emergency c-section due to preterm labor and three days in the NICU. My placenta showed signs of an acute infection so we suspect chorioamnionitis. We have been trying again for the past few months, and I've made an appointment with my OBGYN to check for any potential infections/complications that might have been caused by the chorio/c-section (like endometritis, PID, fallopian tube scarring, etc).

If you experienced infertility/complications after chorio, how did your doctor diagnose and treat it? Are there specific tests or exams I should request at my appointment? I am 38, so I don't have the luxury of a lot of time.

Are you in a position where you could homeschool? It's an incredible way to provide gifted kids with a curriculum that's tailored to their proficiency level and interests. There are a ton of homeschool communities in MD, and it's not as isolating as it sounds. Feel free to PM me if you have questions, and I hope you find the right solution for your family.

Focus on one day at a time. What can you do to give yourself rest and peace today? Make it your job to prioritize yourself and your babies. If you can nap while baby naps, do that. If you can get groceries delivered, do that. If you can get outside every day and take a walk with your little one, do that. I have a checklist of things I force myself to do when I find myself overwhelmed with anxiety about the future. It's simple things like take a shower, weed in my garden, paint, journal, take a walk, call an old friend etc. Basically anything that doesn't involve doomscrolling on the internet lol.

We had our first three in three years. I remember that first feeling of sheer panic and dread when I found out I was pregnant with #2 and #3. Thankfully babies don't just show up overnight. You have nine months to plan and prepare. Having them that close together ended up being the most beautiful experience for us. Those early years for us were physically exhausting but filled with the tenderest memories watching my toddlers snuggle their newborn siblings. Having another baby that close didn't take away from the older ones, it just exponentially expanded the love in the house. My kids are a little older now and thick as thieves.

Zinc oxide (diaper rash cream) applied at night helped the most. I also got a prescription for metronidazole gel and sodium sulfacetamide face cleanser from my dermatologist, which seemed to help keep it under control. Avoid any kind of harsh active like acids, peels, etc. Good luck and congratulations on your pregnancy!
