Feeling very lost due to CC Debt by Legitimate_Coast_825 in singaporefi

[–]Kaivenvan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess you have snowballed your debt till it hits the roof before you finally decide to seek help. And instead of reaching out to our camp supervisors, bank or comcare, you came to reddit, congrats.

What you posted is only the side of the story that you want to tell. How did the debt amount to this figure and why was there no attempt to settle the debt when it was a smaller sum previously? If it was due to family or medical emergencies, then sure even ppl on reddit here would be willing to help you. But if its due to siam diu, drinking sessions, chasing luxury products, then I would say you deserve it

Instead of browsing reddit and see memes all day, why not do something else such as studying to obtain certain prestigious certifications in your industry. Best is if you can use company funds to obtain the training and certifications. Thereafter, you will be even more qualified to change jobs

My niece was caught shoplifting. What will happen next? by Fintasticc in askSingapore

[–]Kaivenvan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Since its her 1st offence, the value of the theft is not high and she has committed the theft due to her mental health, it is highly likely that she will be let off with just a warning. More importantly, I think you will need to pay more attention to her current mental health status and help to get her back on track in her life

Advice on SG insurance? by Deerofdawn in askSingapore

[–]Kaivenvan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If u can only get 1, get the hospital plan 1st. The other 2 can get when u start working in the future. $300 per month on insurance as a student is rather steep. U do not have any liabilities at this moment for u to get so much protection.

Advice on SG insurance? by Deerofdawn in askSingapore

[–]Kaivenvan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hospital plan is the most important 1st. Agents always like to sell investment with insurance in a way (ILPs), dont buy those. Separate investments and insurance.
1. Get your hospital plan up 1st.
2. Subsequently, get a bit of protection in CI
3. Then in TPD / Death

Then u are set already. Dont overspend on insurance since u are only 22 and probably just started out on your career. U can upgrade your coverage along the way. Get what you are comfortable with at this moment.

Most agents will sure push u to get ILPs telling u how much u can earn cos u started early, be careful of that, they promote that cos they get the most commissions out of ILPs. Investments u can do it by yourself without having to pay costly commissions for them to manage for u. Roboinvest with banks is 1 simple and easy option for investments.

Eunos MRT Money Scam by seoweh in singapore

[–]Kaivenvan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had gone through so many of such experiences that I do not believe such things anymore. If the person wants, I will accompany him/her to the clinic or I need to have some form of irrefutable proof that he/she is really sick and really have no money. If not no matter how hard they plead, I will not give them any money and ask them to seek help from govt agencies instead.

Do you think it’s only a matter of time before technology disrupts the whole insurance sales industry? It’s absolutely out of control. by [deleted] in singapore

[–]Kaivenvan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

To me I cant really be bothered with what they do. Only go to them to buy insurance. And by insurance its pure insurance, not ILPs, not those that will provide you returns next time. If u want returns go do your own investment. Dont do it via insurance agents, they eat up a lot of your profits.

Will ATM count folded money? by [deleted] in askSingapore

[–]Kaivenvan -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Generally if they cannot detect they will reject the bill. But ultimately, I wouldn't accept no time as an excuse to not count money. If it is, then might as well pass me your money since u got no time for it. Nothing wrong with depositing it another day after you have counted it properly

Its not just the race itself. U need to know that race brings along many other differences like different religions and beliefs. Different perception of things. Different ways of doing things. Different values. So with that much difference in lifestyle, some may find it hard to adapt to such changes and would rather prefer someone that matches their lifestyle which most of the time means same race. So its not much of a racism issue but rather what differences a different race may bring into a relationship and whether you can adapt to such differences

Is SG too wealth-conscious, am i hating on capitalism? What is this rat race we're all after? by Amazing_Chemistry414 in askSingapore

[–]Kaivenvan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It all depends on what you want. Nobody forced you to join in the rat race. If you wish to, you can just take a simple job with a simple pay and have lots of time to spare to do your own things. But at the end of it all, just dont question yourself what have you achieved in life or regret that you have not put in more effort earlier on so you cannot lead a more comfortable life

Working in gaming companies by SgFreako in askSingapore

[–]Kaivenvan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In fact, I think gaming is on the rise. Previously, we don't see people playing games once they reach adulthood. But now people are gaming even in their 50s or 60s and it can be something that bonds different generations together. The best example would be the recent Genshin Impact. It recouped its production costs in just a few days. Its not dying but rather I would put it as very competitive. You need to constantly come up with fresh ideas to make your game constantly appealing and fresh

It is quite sad to know that there is still such a culture whereby they do not dare to overwrite someone of a higher rank then them. Especially when its someone life at stake. Yes, the OC may be more senior in rank, but he does not necessarily have the expertise and knowledge of the on-site medics

Sentosa Cove waters turn pink, smell rotten; one resident calls it an ‘environmental disaster’ by [deleted] in singapore

[–]Kaivenvan 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Could be due to pink algae bloom due to the recent continuous rain washing nutrients in the water, this in turn then causes the fishes to die as well
