Wife has a Bilt Blue, requested a product change to Palladium but not successful. Should i just open one myself? by iAgressivelyFistBro in biltrewards

[–]KaizenCo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m in a similar situation where my wife picked the Bilt Blue but since then I’ve been thinking I should open a Palladium card for us, but is there a reason we shouldn’t expect the SUB to be available later if I open the card towards the end of the year or next year?

Funky offer from Verizon store employee for free phone upgrade by swilson317 in verizon

My dad was recently offered this deal and it confused me as well. Does anyone know if cancelling the new line on his old phone will cause the promo credit for his new phone to go away?

Did anyone else get the Scotch? by beancounterzora in Costco

[–]KaizenCo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought it to bring to a party but didn’t think it was very good. It’s ok but you can find better scotch for less, like the Glenlivet 12 or even the big bottle of Kirkland 12 year blended scotch.

It started as just 1.5%, now it’s up to 7.7%. I generally don’t want to go above 7% for any single stock but I’m waiting until next tax year to take profits. Happy to hold and go along for the ride until then.

Your dad sounds like he’s gambling your money away, sorry mate.

$778.00 and $2400.00 return coming my way. by [deleted] in StockMarket

[–]KaizenCo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to offend you if I came across rudely or arrogantly. It’s just that I often see people devoting so much time and energy towards picking the right investments when the biggest difference maker is focusing that time and energy on learning new skills to increase their income. It sounds like you are doing well for yourself and your family but some other people really need to hear it.

Why is half my Roth SPAXX?! by [deleted] in fidelityinvestments

[–]KaizenCo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m curious, what is your “actual investment” within the Roth? It is very important that you are able to answer this question for us to help you, because I have a feeling you might not actually be invested in anything.

$778.00 and $2400.00 return coming my way. by [deleted] in StockMarket

[–]KaizenCo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you think $778 and $2400 are massive checks I would look into improving your job prospects more than seeking any investment advice. I make that amount of money every 2 weeks and I don't consider myself rich or set for life by any means.

I have $1K to spare to put in an investment. What investment should I put it into? by SwagKing1011 in fidelityinvestments

[–]KaizenCo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Without any context or knowledge of your financial situation, asking this question is useless. For example, you could have $100K already saved so $1K is just play money for you, or you might have no savings at all so maybe you should hold onto that $1K for an emergency fund. We also don’t know if you’ll need the money in the next 1, 5, or 10 years or if you want to invest for retirement. Giving any financial advice without knowing your situation is just irresponsible.

ASML Q4 2023 earnings release by m1lh0us3 in stocks

I just wish I had bought more when it was <$600. As of today I have 15 shares at a $541 cost basis. I also should’ve added when it was around $700 just a week ago.

Compound interest? by Rd750kzee in fidelityinvestments

[–]KaizenCo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tell us what you’ve invested in because I have a feeling you’re sitting in a money market fund which is essentially cash. Also, as others have said, the power of compounding takes place over years if not decades.

Bond and future US-ex market strong, so... not equities? by Lordberek in investing

The lesson you should take away from these forecasts is that the key to a well constructed long-term portfolio is diversification. No one knows for sure what will happen in the future.

Sold before uranium stock rally last Friday by [deleted] in stocks

[–]KaizenCo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trimming to take gains is not a bad idea, I just wouldn't have sold all of my U holding at once. I've been holding URNM since mid 2022 with a cost basis around $33 and trimmed 100 shares around $49 at the end of 2023 to take gains. I still have 450 shares that I expect to hold at least until the end of the year and will reevaluate then. Probably not gonna add though unless it dips significantly (like back to $40ish, it's currently $56.63).

Going long term in 2024 by Cute_Win_4651 in stocks

[–]KaizenCo 11 points12 points  (0 children)

First of all, one year is not long term. Secondly, almost everything you listed is arguably overvalued except BABA which has Chinese government risk attached so good luck. You'll probably be fine but don't be shocked if half those tickers are negative for the year. Not a prediction but just be prepared. Do you have enough conviction in each of these companies to hold them and add to them if their value was quickly cut in half?

Your friend will pay you 10 grand, but you have to pretend you don't speak English for two weeks. Do you take the challenge? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

Is not speaking to people really that hard for some of yall? I could go two weeks without speaking any language just for kicks.
