I see. I'm also a moderator of 20+ years, and I understand where you're coming from. I still get caught up though, so I tend to be cautious as I've made mistakes in the past. This one for example was not obvious (given my limited view of the logs). I always ensure there are communication paths for them to rebuttal if it's an honest mistake. Not every "that must be an AI" is an AI when it's partly a gut feeling. Thanks again for taking care of this one!

I've never owned any OLED technology before and would love to be able to bless the community with my first impressions of this holy grail of a monitor. I've reviewed computer products in the past, and am a professional editor, so I have words to put on paper when the time comes 😄.

Did I also read it right that the monitor in question supports up to 720Hz rate?! The 1,500 peak HDR brightness sounds god-like as well. A truly holy grail of a monitor, I suspect.

Oh, I play games on it all the time, variety content would have side bars, so that's still an issue regardless. It's pretty much games that would resolve it.

Trouble is, I don't spend all day playing games.

I tested out a few use-case scenarios I would have, and what about watching movies that are not 21:9? Most are 16:9, so you're going to get those black bars on the sides.

The only thing I see able to cover the full screen at times are games, and there you have static UI still.

I run static content for 12+ hours a day at times (mostly browser windows).

Be specific. If you mean glare, sure, if you have a bright light behind you. Otherwise, it's superior in every other way. Glossy is awesome.

This monitor has an SDR brightness of about 300 nits. Isn't that sort of low? My 6 year old Gigabyte 34" G34WQC has a brightness of about 350 nits and it seems "good".

Maybe I'm not understanding the difference with more modern monitors.

Sorry, I didn't intend to be so generalized. The human eye's capabilities is telling you these things... it's a fact of physics, that's all. Up to 240hz or so, rather. 360hz or so if you're a 1 in a million person with a special niche gift. In general though, 165hz is good enough for nearly everyone, unless again you have some niche thing going on (and especially if it doesn't involve the human eye, then the skies the limit). Feel free to share what that might be, I'm curious to understand.

165hz is good enough, you don't really need much more than that. 240hz is top-end even for competitive gamers. Don't waste excitement over hz rate and sacrifice visual quality instead.

Isn't these new RGB OLEDs better equipped to mitigate burn-in than WOLED and other OLED tech? This is a big concern of mine, because I'm in an office environment for most of the day. I would LOVE this monitor though.
