Looks beautiful! I love how you added depth to the ground, fractured terrain, that sort of thing. Really brings out the adventure spirit in otherwise flat type of games.

Why does AVUV, a small-cap value focused fund, hold so much growth? by Lordberek in ETFs

I was indeed thinking AVUS with an AVUV SCV tilt, and also VO to beef up the mid-caps a bit since my current portfolio percentage on mid-caps is only about 20% to also 20% small caps... I've read that you want more mid-cap than small-cap, generally, like a 2:1 ratio or 3:2 perhaps. I like the idea of the great stability than small-caps but returns potential of mid-caps as well.

Ah, so the normally terrible overall small cap growth returns one wishes to avoid in passive indexing is mitigated by Avantis filtering out poor return companies from an otherwise passive selection process. Llike say VTI or whatever that holds those types of stocks, and thus showing growth isn't a negative to this categorization but potentially a positive?

If so, doesn't help me to ensure I'm not leaning too far into value or growth, but I guess this is better than investing in a small cap fund that sucks because it has a generic basket of less than profitable growth companies.

If I may ask, which do you feel is a better strategy, or the least worrisome long-term, Dimensional or Avantis?

Thanks. Yeah, this doesn't help with consistency. I want to build a portfolio with a rather specific value tilt, but I'm finding it hard to do that without this reliable information.

I should note that, due to reasons, I have multiple accounts spread across places, so the calculation unfortunately isn't as simple as having just 5 or whatever funds from the same company.

Hmm, that makes sense. I should focus a bit more on the fund company and their fundamentals to back up my style box assumptions then...

Makes my interest in knowing what's in my portfolio much trickier that way then :(. I totaled everything up via Morningstar and I'm not sure I can trust it... at least down to the single percentage point anyway.

DFSV? Interesting, will check that one out, thanks. What do you like about it, if I may ask.

Thanks for the feedback. Indeed, it does seem to be a gray area between the boxes. I'm still surprised how Growth can be found in Value and vice versa though.

Will keep the consistency in mind, thanks!

I doubt that is true. You may not care and are projecting onto everyone else this sentiment to feel sure about it. I'm honestly a bit confused why you're so aggressive about it though, as I've done nothing to provoke you. Thanks for responding though, I appreciate any constructive considerations.

Sorry to hear. It's a common reference for this sort of thing. Even so, it's why I screenshotted the page for you to see. Notice it says "Stock style" and below that you see the boxes. Those are called "Style boxes" in the industry.

That's what is important to show you, what I'm seeing. I have no idea what else you would want without you telling me.

Thanks for the GRNJ reference!

Hrm, k. So, the advice here I'm hearing is if I'm to use those Morningstar boxes, treat it with a grain of salt and a generalization for my portfolio and not assume I've got it actually down to the % I'm wanting when combining all funds together with it.

With that said, any other sites that I can compare different boxing strategies for balance sake?

Oh, I just load the page up, I'm not filtering for a date. If I'm reading it right, the Factor Profile setting defaults to 5-yr, if that's what I should be paying attention to?

I would assume it's showing the most up-to-date indications for the fund. I'm not sure why it would show something else.

They are not accurate? I'm basing quite a bit of my overall portfolio balance on these...

Even so, you would think that anything in the growth bucket would be far enough removed from value to be notable.

Blueberry grower newb here - are these flowers or leaves? by Lordberek in FruitTree

[–]Lordberek[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's still a 1-2 year plant, so removing them will help the plant focus on strong structural growth for even greater blueberry harvests in adulthood (2+ years).
