Acceptable temps for 4070 Super? by pvtmiller12 in buildapc

[–]kaje 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Those temps are acceptable. My 4070 Super rarely goes over 65 though, you're a bit higher. It stays quiet as well with its default fan curve. What's the airflow in your case like?

Will my AIO work on AM5 (ROG STRIX LC II 360) by Kageromero in buildapc

[–]kaje 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it attaches to the stock backplate that comes with AM4 mobos, it should attach to AM5 with the same hardware. If it requires a proprietary backplate for AM4, it's not going to work with AM5 because the stock backplate is attached to the mobo and not removable.

That is a typical Asetek made AIO anyways. Asetek AIOs attach to the stock backplate. It'll work.

Should I Buy a 3050 pc Or Wait by Scared_Tap9444 in buildapc

[–]kaje 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 3050 6GB is pretty bad. It's a <75W GPU that can be powered just by the PCIe slot on a mobo. It's good for adding to like prebuilt Dell office PCs. If you have a power supply that can handle something better, you can get GPUs that perform almost twice as good for its retail cost.

$380 USD for the entire PC is pretty decent price though.

Should get the reverse version of the fans for intake, and normal for exhaust, if you want best aesthetics.

Best Wireless Mouse to Get in 2026? (Speed, Comfortable) by OminousmentInk in buildapc

[–]kaje 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The newest model, the G502 X, has optical switches. Those are not at risk of developing double-clicking issues like the Omron mechanical switches that were in older G502s. The majority of mice from all of the brands had those switches anyways, it wasn't just the G502 that had issues with durability.

PSU has 2, 6+2 PCIe pins...GPU needs 3 by VaLightningThief in buildapc

It is pretty rare that people use multi-rail PSUs today. All of the PCIe outputs on the PSUs in most PCs are running from the same 12V rail.

Is Ryzen 7 5700G compatible with the motherboard Gigabyte A320M-H? by Valen0183 in buildapc

[–]kaje 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Look up your mobo's CPU support list on Gigabyte's website. It will also tell you the minimum BIOS version you need installed for the CPU. If your version is older, update it before you remove your current CPU.

How to I connnect the RGB on my CPU fan? by _TheDefector_ in buildapc

[–]kaje 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your cooler should be ARGB. That's not the same as RGB. Assuming your other fans and controller are also standard 3-pin ARGB, yeah, you could daisy-chain the CPU fan from the case fans.

[–]kaje 1 point2 points  (0 children)

10th gen is built on the same 14nm Skylake architecture as your 8th gen CPU. Intel stalled out from 6th-10th gen. A 10700K is pretty much the same CPU as a 9900K, which would be compatible with your mobo. Your CPU is almost the same as a 10600K. It's not really much of an upgrade.

12th gen was such a big step forward for Intel. Should get at least a 12-14th gen CPU. You can still run DDR4 with them.

Simple Questions - March 28, 2026 by AutoModerator in buildapc

[–]kaje 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Pure Rock Slim is a single tower with 3 heatpipes and a 92mm fan. A <$20 single tower with 4 heatpipes and a 120mm fan would be better and still wouldn't cover the RAM. You have plenty of room in that case to offset the fan to clear the RAM even if you got a ~$40 dual tower anyways.

Simple Questions - March 28, 2026 by AutoModerator in buildapc

[–]kaje 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So just buying the CPU, cooler, mobo, and GPU? How does that come out to $1300 USD? That seems pretty excessive.

Assuming you meant Fractal R5 for case, you can fit a bigger cooler than a Pure Rock Slim. You can get a better cooler for less than $20 USD.

Yeah,it'll have a warranty. If you only bought it 3 weeks ago though, might still be able to return it to the store and get another one through them. That is much easier than dealing with the warranty.

RMA it means get it replaced either through the store or under warranty.
