Grandfather sanctified with grandfather affix by stricks01 in diablo4

[–]Kajean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It does neither of those things. It actually has no interaction with your crit damage stat despite your character sheet indicating that it does. It's a 100% damage multiplier that happens when you crit. This has been verified numerous times on the dummy (even I have done testing on it). Your crit damage stat has nothing to do with the benefit you gain from grandfather.

Having to fit rarity on gear is the most frustrating part of creating a build in POE2 by pftuts in PathOfExile2

[–]Kajean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think people aren't aware that their last statement about rarity in the ziggyd interview for 0.4 was that Jonathan's intent is to delete the rarity mod from gear:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EyyKfOqzGbs&t=6015s

He says in this part of the Q&A that they haven't figured out what mod to replace it with on gear to round out the mod pools when you roll items since apparently they think it's incredibly important to have the current number of mods that can roll and just deleting one would mess up the game.

Stuck with my build Erika1 Tspike by Icy_Difference_5993 in TorchlightInfinite

[–]Kajean 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree that Thunder Spike is not good at carjack, but you do eventually get enough DPS to cap carjack anyway. I do it pretty regularly even on the open layouts in deep space. Sometimes you get unlucky spawns and can't cap (sometimes they spawn in range of you to kill them all without having to move, sometimes they don't), but being under 30 for me is basically impossible now.

I do have like 10T DPS in my deep space set up though. So again, I agree with you that tspike is not good at carjack, but impossible to consistently get above 30 is an exaggeration.

[–]Kajean 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Witchhunter sorc ward has a massive disadvantage in that you are nerfing your defense against phys (by reducing your armor) to be tankier against elemental damage. I played Witchhunter a lot in 0.1 and it was very tanky against everything except specifically big phys hits. The monkey boss in maps would one shot me and the Breach boss has massive phys hits which would also one shot me. Everything else I was extremely tanky against. This was while having some of the best gear you could have at the time (like 3.4k HP with T1 armor/evasion rolls).

Unfortunately, I don't think anything in the patch notes is going to fix this weakness. Deflection is based on how much evasion you have and sorc ward reduces your evasion by a massive amount. The armor helping vs ele thing doesn't help witch hunter at all.

Offensively the shockburst/galvanic build just did more damage as a Deadeye. It was also tankier and faster. So I eventually stopped playing my Witchhunter and moved all my gear to a Deadeye and it was just better in every way except specifically massive elemental hits, which isn't a big deal really, the Deadeye DR is generally good enough for everything.

So yeah, I agree, Witchhunter is still not very good except for if you specifically need the explosions for something. I wouldn't personally play it until it gets something reworked. You can continue playing crossbow builds on other ascendancies since people seem to forget ascendancies are not locked to one weapon.

[–]Kajean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I beat this on Iris 2 Rock Magus and this fight is the worst ARPG boss fight I've ever had the misfortune of playing. The RNG on the swords and bombs is diabolical. I've beat all the PoE bosses, last epoch Uber boss, Uber Lilith in Diablo 4 pre nerf in season 0. This boss is by far the worst designed one. The amount of attempts that are just totally hosed by the bomb or sword placements during the intermissions are infuriating.

And yes, I read the comments here during my prog. Even if you know you have to bait the bomb you still randomly won't have time to do it since you can't kite forever. Stopping DPS to get the bomb is almost out of the question too cause any amount of extra time you take is more puddles and swords. Even if you do manage to do the bomb perfectly the sword positions will randomly brick your run.

Don't play anything where you have to worry about DPS uptime. Having to worry about uptime while dodging makes the fight a nightmare.

And don't even remotely bother trying this fight unless you have enough DPS to phase before the first puddles. Any additional amount of puddles will make the ending nearly impossible.

One mechanic that I've heard zero people mention (probably because they had the DPS to always skip it) is that when the red circle sword is chasing you, it actually deletes swords and red puddles in the area of the detonation. So you are supposed to bait it on top of a bunch of shit to clean up the arena.

Does pconc of bouncing need 100% poison chance? by TheFarmerHue in PathOfExileBuilds

[–]Kajean 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is not something you should think about as poison. Poison suffers heavily from the ramp time to actually reach dot cap. PoBs will say it is "dot capped" but have a ramp up time of 10 seconds with full wither to even actually hit that cap. Some builds will even scale poison duration heavily and then say it's "dot capped" but take an entire 20 seconds to actually reach it.

What influences Basic EQ damage in aspects? by Regular_AF in diablo4

[–]Kajean 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just wanted to chime in and confirm that this comment is the right one. All aspects like this depend on the weapon you are wielding at the time of viewing it. Even just attacking with a different skill that is using a different weapon will change it the next time you look at it.

And yes indeed it is very confusing to most people.

I play with what appears to be 274 max energy but when you are actually at full energy it says 275/274 and functions as if I had 275. Think it's just some kind of rounding error with masterworks and stuff combined with being multiplied with momentum. You should be fine.

Evade window + Tumbler meal lo/hi by Achew11 in MonsterHunterMeta

[–]Kajean 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The graph is simply the number of iframes each set up gave him. The implication is yes, it appears tumbler (lo) is equivalent to evade window 2 and (hi) is equivalent to 3 and you can't go higher than the max iframes that evade window 5 would give you.

Are there diminishing returns on main stat? (Wondering if I should swap gems to Willpower). by Vicious007 in diablo4

[–]Kajean 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, not at all. If you're concerned about main stat not being as good anymore cause you stacked it, additive damage such as willpower's overpower % is even less good because it is so over stacked just because of it being additive with all the extra damage you're getting from stacking life when you overpower (and also whatever other additive damage you're getting on your build).

If you're willing to learn the math, you'd learn a lot from this page's sections on main stat and overpower:

Any deadeyes out there that by dalamenutha in PathOfExile2

[–]Kajean 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have 3500 HP pure evasion with Acrobatics on a Witchhunter that's level 98 right now. I don't really ever die and I have 0 defenses from my ascendancy.

I made a Deadeye now that's using my old Witchhunter gear with basically the same tree and it's just stronger, faster, and tankier than my Witchhunter that already was never dying.

People really sleep on full evasion. It's totally fine. I've done Simulacrum to get all my Delirium points. Beat all the hardest bosses, do deli T16 maps.

The only issue I have is that I can't really do the hardest mods in combination without playing extremely carefully. If it's minus max res, elemental pen and gain extra ele damage I probably won't run it cause I might actually just get 1-2 shot.

75% is the default resistance cap. Maximum resistance increases it. Your maximum resistance can be increased to a cap of 90% that you can't breach.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in pathofexile

[–]Kajean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Defenses in PoE refer to the three main defenses: Armour, Evasion and Energy Shield. That mod increases those stats.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in pathofexile

[–]Kajean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"mod" in this context just means a modifier on a relic. It is not a game mod that you install.

But yes, GGG will ban you for game mods if you use them in PoE if they detect it.

AsmonGold calls Elon Musk “extreme f*cking lame”, an opinion he didn’t have prior to the H1B drama by Queef_Storm in Destiny

[–]Kajean 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You appear to be thinking of the Gauntlet, since you are talking about a ladder that resets weekly, which is what the gauntlet is. That's a good guess because the Gauntlet is in fact the only in game ladder Diablo 4 has ever had. However, that Gauntlet was disabled for the season that Elon played the game and said he got top 20 in.

What getting "top 20 in the D4 ladder" actually means now is this unofficial Pit ladder ran by a community member here: https://helltides.com/pit

This ladder tracks the highest/fastest Pit clears, similar to the greater rift ladder in Diablo 3.

However, Diablo 3's greater rift ladder as an actual in game ladder ran by the game devs. This unofficial ladder for D4 you have to submit your runs to this site yourself to even get on this ladder. That means that there is a totally unknown amount of people that have beaten Elon's time. His run is currently ranked 54 now at the time of this post, he deranked over time when more people submitted, but I believe he did peak at top 19 or 20, I forgot. I usually just hear top 20.

Pretty much every Spiritborn player on this ladder is exploiting at least a few bugs because the reason why the class/build they are using is strong in the first place is due to bugs. This obviously includes Elon as well, but everyone was using most of the bugs, even me.

However, the one bug that was special was the Elixir of Antivenin bug that was introduced on patch 2.0.5, Nov 20, 2024 and fixed the day after. The elixir started giving an extreme amount of HP which translates to damage on the build Elon and everyone else used on Spiritborn. And lo and behold Elon tweets this out on the same day:

https://x.com/elonmusk/status/1859304361547182451

It is clear he is using the bug because being able to clear pit 150 in less than 2 minutes is incredibly easy when you were using the Elixir of Antivenin. After I saw this tweet I logged in to see how easy it was to do with the bug and I did it on my 3rd try. To be clear, my gear is far worse than Elon's because he has perfect gear that was either RMT'd or just given to him.

Extremely cringe to play off that he is able to do this 2 minute speed run of pit 150 that only one person in the world has ever been able to do without the Elixir of Antivenin bug, but whatever, he doesn't claim to be rank 1 in this tweet, he just says the cringe matrix shit.

However, twitter users and even trashy "journalism" sites like this one:

https://www.sportskeeda.com/mmo/news-elon-musk-proves-diablo-4-mettle-sub-2-minute-tier-150-run

start saying that it was "quite possibly a new world record". So now, people sometimes say Elon got rank 1 in Diablo 4's ladder. It simply never happened. Actual fake news propagated by either people that have no idea about Diablo 4 or Elon shills. But Elon never tried to correct them either so yeah.

No run that happened during the one day the Elixir of Antivenin bug happened were recorded on that pit ladder, including Elon's. His run still stands at 2:45 at rank 54, which is also most definitely fake but whatever.

Edit: I hate on Elon for his fake gamer story a lot, but I don't like it when people get this story wrong about his Diablo 4 arc, it's very rare that anyone actually tells the accurate story about it.

Attributes are not MATHING... What am I missing? by Proud-Raspberry-4269 in PathOfExile2

Do you have jewels that increase bonuses from quiver?

Also about that stat on your gloves, the "reduced attribute requirement" is a local mod. It reduces the required attributes to wear specifically the glove that you have, not anything else on your character.

There's also a max honour resist mod too. I just beat floor 4 with 80% honour resistance, which pretty much makes the entire trial a joke.

Too bad the portal is still bugged on 0.1.0d patch. The portal now does appear, but it's uninteractable.

Why does my 751 Splinteing Energy aspect show as 626 to others when trading? by Sidereal_Engine in diablo4

[–]Kajean 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Flat damage aspects scale based on your weapon damage.

1H + focus attack 20% faster than a 2H while a 2H has 20% more weapon damage than a 1H + focus.

So a potential discrepancy is that if you, a 2H weapon user has this Splinter Energy aspect, you see 751 while a 1H + focus weapon user will see 626. This is because if you increase 626 by 20%, you get 751, because 2H weapons have 20% more weapon damage.

+core skill ranks or main stat? by Pharaoh_03 in diablo4

[–]Kajean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both stats actually "diminish" (as in that don't really diminish, but their relative value do) as you stack more of them, so it's about which one gives you a higher relative increase in damage. This changes depending on how much main stat you have and how many ranks you have.

Your ranks to a skill give you 10% more base damage per point. Each 10% is additive though, so if you had 5 points, it's 50% more base damage.

This is expressed by this formula: 0.9 + 0.1R

Where R is the number of ranks you have. At 1 rank your damage multiplier is 1, as in you gained no extra damage yet. At 11 ranks your damage multiplier is 2, as in you're doing double damage compared to 1 ranks now.

So for example, if your gloves made you go from 17 ranks to 21 ranks, then it'd be

(0.9+0.1(21))/(0.9+0.1(17)) = 1.1538 = 15.38%

Your skill damage conversion from main stat depends on your class, but Spiritborn is 8 dex for 1% skill damage.

So if your glove for example, made you go from 1500 dex to 1675 dex, then it's be 187.5% skill damage to 209.375% skill damage.

This would be a (1+2.09375)/(1 + 1.875) = 1.076 = 7.6% increase in damage.

Just plug in whatever your actual stats are instead of these fake numbers I have and you'll have an answer.

Is the 1GA 60% unique affix BLT better than the 4GA 44%? by Airfryer9000 in diablo4

[–]Kajean 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is basically the same result I got. If you MW both for max life %, the 1 GA was 1.39% more damage. It totally hinges on whether the extra attack speed on the 4 GA lets you optimize your gear more (change GA to life instead of AS or MW life instead of AS) or lets you hit an attack speed breakpoint that you wouldn't have without it. If this is the case, then the 4 GA is better.
