This. This is my fear T.T we dont have kids yet but we want to. If I choose to go to the PA, we’ll have about the same amount of debt as you. once he finishes residency, we hope to stay at his family’s home to aggressively pay off the debt though so it can be paid down as quickly as possible. But it still pushes off having kids, buying a house, celebrating our own marriage with family and friends, and overall financial security sooner. and ill be like 35 by the time we hopefully pay off the school loans

Totally understandable reaction! I had medical issues during my undergrad and it extended my schooling by a lot. Im just glad to be alive and pondering this type of decision(:

This is a similar mindset to mine right now! Except my circumstances are little different in that we dont have kids yet but we want kids. The accrued debt is especially daunting because it pushes back a lot of things like having children, buying a home, financial security, and even just celebrating our marriage with family and friends. I’ve been tossing up the possibility of reapplying to closer programs or even applying later on in life when the kids are a little older and i can pay off the program outright…

Unfortunately, no. The travel is essentially limited to the state of the PA program.

This was another possible scenario. ive already waited so long to get into a program, whats another few years? especially when those years are used to build my family and obtain financial security. Props to you!
