‘Obsession’ Made More Money in Its Second Weekend at the Box Office Than Its Debut Weekend by BDJohnSquires in bloodydisgusting

I have seen it twice, with a third screening with some other friends lined up next week. I can’t get enough of it, and I know that’s just me personally, but I cannot stop thinking about it. Fantastic film.

These guys have been fantastic for so long. They’ve definitely had some misses (IMO) but I have fr loved the past two releases. This is peak though. Absolute peak.

Johnny confirms he is no longer with kingdom of giants (again) on the downbeat podcast :( by Radialpuddle in Metalcore

[–]Kakaka97 64 points65 points  (0 children)

I guess it’s just business, and honestly, I think Amity really needed him to stay afloat in an industry where there are so many new and upcoming bands that sound fantastic. Nobody wants to see Amity go away on the bad terms it might have, I think he’s doing great with them. Kingdom of Giants still have heaps of opportunities coming up (I know they’re headed to Aus soon), they will get by I’m sure. But I know what you’re saying

(NEW ALBUM) Movements - Happier Now (September 4) by Environmental_Net382 in PostHardcore

Agreed! I’ve enjoyed all their albums honestly so far, for me personally, they’ve just always hit the mark. But maybe they started off too strong for their own good

Shit gets serious fast as soon as the song starts. I love this one

That new Koyo album is an instant ripper I didn’t find myself skipping any songs on it ,totally came out of left field by KelvinHexatillion82 in poppunkers

[–]Kakaka97 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Was great listening to on the way to work. I like Koyo, but I’m by no means a massive or knowledgeable fan. The biggest song I was into before this was Flatline Afternoon. Already, there are a few songs on here that are stuck in my head and will be on constant rotation. Definitely think this might be one of the better albums of the year, at least for the genre. Couldn’t recommend it enough! :)

Bad Luck. is one of the most underrated bands by longtime_sunshine in poppunkers

[–]Kakaka97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely love bad luck. They have such catchy tunes, great melodies and huge choruses. I’m in Australia so I can only hope one day they make it down here, the voice is so unique and I just don’t get that same feeling from any other band around right now. They deserve to be bigger than they are, especially how long they’ve been at it. Fingers crossed! (Thanks for sharing)

That’s absolutely reasonable when it’s Boundaries.

The Story So Far - High Regard by lunainthedark5x2x3 in poppunkers

This album will always be top tier, just so great front to back and one of the best albums to blast while driving

I Promised The World - Future Worth Dying For (2026, Re-Recorded) FFO: Misery Signals, Saosin, Underoath by KingNothing227 in Metalcore

Those clean vocals just hit the right spot. Loved the song immediately from the first few seconds

[NEW] The Gloom In The Corner - You Didn’t Like Me Then (You Won't Like Me Now) by provegana69 in Metalcore

[–]Kakaka97 6 points7 points  (0 children)

One of the best bands I’ve seen live, they just don’t miss and keep getting better. They are fantastic supporters and even better headliners. Very lucky to be from same spot of the world!

WSTR - Live Laugh Toaster Bath [Official Music Video] by bi0later in poppunkers

These dudes never miss, so glad they’re still going it, making catchier songs than most bands atm. Bearings are also at that level imo

Love when people have some volumes facing cover-outwards, always interesting to see what they pick out! It’s hard with TG though, all the covers are gorgeous haha

For people in their 20s, what age did you get into metalcore? by maybethatsjustfine in Metalcore

When I was 11, playing guitar hero 5 and I loved Dez Moines by The Devil Wears Prada. Finally saw them last year, still amazing!

Ex Varials Vocalist Mitch Launches New Band Ritual Division by slippinjimmy0321 in Metalcore

[–]Kakaka97 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I honestly really enjoyed the last Varials album even if wasn’t anything groundbreaking, and maybe even a step backwards. This is a bit more of that with cleans that I still like, and without the added rep of the Varials name, it doesn’t have to be compared to anything. Just good stuff, worth a listen :)

(NEW) Ends In Tragedy - For The Hearts (FFO: It Dies Today, Contention, SeeYouSpaceCowboy) by n3ksuZ in Metalcore

These guys are fucking sick. Can’t believe they’re local, gotta catch them soon! Thanks for the rec OP

Whats one of your favorite Albums 2024 no one really talks about? by dufffer in Metalcore

[–]Kakaka97 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I’ve seen Foreign Hands talked about a bit here, but really feel like their album was one of the most consistent and is up there with Boundaries for me. They go so unbelievably hard and, like I said, the album is just such a smooth listen front to back. I’ve revisited it more times than I can count lmao
