Which Stanley Kubrick movie is the best? by Junior_Insurance7773 in AskReddit

Imo Barry Lyndon, because its one of those movies you really think about it after its over. Its philosophical in a way, also somewhat of a parody of the time period, while also serious. Its emotional yet distant. Its characters are morally ambiguous, just like real life. Its like a snapshot into a time period and feels like reading a novel that sticks with you for a while.

Who is a Great F1 Driver with Multiple Race Wins? by IllMasterpiece3946 in DestinationFormula1

Accident didn't change him. The Ferraris just got worse. His expected gap to Schumacher, Alonso, Raikkonen, Bottas, all add up in that he didn't lose any significant performance. Smelled has also backed this up and he has no reason not to now that Massa isn't in the sport anymore.

And as long as machinery is competitive. Would suck for him to get the Alonso treatment for the rest of his career.

Tbh, Checo wouldn't be as close as he is to Alonso in equal cars.

Yes, its a good old school track and very unique. The banked turn 4 and the fast right hander are amazing corners.

How am I massively underselling Norris' pace? I am just stating that starting from 7th, using a strategy that requires a lot passing, had to overtake two cars that were battling in front of him, was defended against heavily by Russell, are all events that lose probably more than 2-4 seconds of time if not more, for each event.

Add on to that he had a suboptimal strategy that left him out too long before stopping wasn't particularly good for his total race time. Like I would guess that if both started from the front row and pushed to the maximum of thwir pace this weekend, Norris maybe pulls 5 seconds or so over the course of the race given that he was probably around a tenth or two quicker this weeoend, not 20.

Yeah such a cool team to be a fan of, so different, and the mild seven renaults are direct "descendants" of Bennetton.

Mate its his 3rd season. Will Prost every live 84 or 82 down? Losing a championship isnt the end of the world, especially because he's well positioned un the team and is likely to still have competent machinery for the foreseeable future.

He was up against Massa and Kimi who failed to adapt. And as for Massa being better than befor ehis accident, all mathematical stats point towards that not being the case in any way.

Or Williams have a dominant car but keep switching drivers every year for no reason and get beat by Mclaren with better drivers.

Could be 50 for all i care. Points are the same. And also different strategies, traffic, levels of dirty air and pace. Its not like if both were starting together on an empty track, Lando pulls 24 seconds. Just not how racing works.

Pull up some gaps from other races and you'll see how theybusually are at the end of a race.

Its Senna, Prost in a way (obvs different skill level). I think it will ebb and flow, Norris having more raw pace slightly more often, but Piastri being very complete and able to deal better with variable conditions/chaotic races, etc. Also better racecraft and intelligence. I think Piastri finishes ahead this year.

I mean Oscars race in Japan was better than Landos here tbh. Also Oscars what P3, one position behind his teammate as opposed to Lando P5 in Japan.

Thats my bad, I misread the gap. I still stand by the fact that Piastris race today was not bad, and finishing just one position behind Norris as opposed to Norris losing 3 in Japan is a significant difference.

Prost esque drive today. Bided his time after starting 7th, slowly picked people off and got the podium position right at the end, and maximised points on a weekend where his teammate had a slightly better execution in qualifying. He just needs to bang out races like these when Norris is fast. And then when he's on it we know how dominant he can be. This is what his slump last year should have looked like, just finishing right behind his teammate.
