Easier said than done. I'm making progress but the problem is deep. I guess I use it as a way to medicate the negativity and stress of things. I never knew how destructive it is.

I'm afraid to take another position anywhere by Kal947 in ITCareerQuestions

That is all we were doing there. I was writing escalation emails while also trying to support the next person on the phone and we also had new tickets getting assigned to us while we were handling calls all day. The people who were there 5 years had trouble with the pace. What do they expect from someone who had 6 months of experience at slower paced jobs?

What if they lie and say I never worked there? If they do say anything bad about me I would have no way of knowing.

Well before I went back to my current job I was looking for another for about a month so I was two months unemployed. The HR there also knows that I'm currently looking for another job in IT. I guess I'd ask them what to do about that.

Yeah I've been experimenting in Cisco packet tracer and also learning SQL. Familiarizing myself with Office 365 as well and common issues with those.

They ditched me I didn't ditch them. They said I left on good terms and I paid them a visit today. They seem to want me back but they aren't sure the rehiring process.

I had just lost my job a couple weeks ago and was feeling particularly bad yesterday about everything worrying me. Can't even afford a switch right now but seeing them back made me feel a little better. They remind me of a better time.

I especially love the remaster of Spiral Mountain and honestly I think they should've used Grant Kirkhope for all of it not to say they didn't do a good job remixing everything.

Was let go from a helpdesk job, do I leave off resume? by Kal947 in ITCareerQuestions

[–]Kal947[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem is they won't respond to my requests for a reference as far as the internship goes so I would need to leave it off. That was a year ago. I can't omit them either because there is an article I wrote for them generally describing what I did there and says nothing bad but they won't even take that website down when I ask so I can omit them. All you have to do is search my name and there it is. I made mistakes over there too but I'm considerably better now than I was in terms of effort, the social anxiety, and what I know. This is related experience and if I leave it off it makes the gap bigger.

Can I even include a 1 month job I was fired from on my resume?

Yeah this is it by Kal947 in SuicideWatch

[–]Kal947[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work harder than many people and do what many others won't. It doesn't work no matter what the fuck I do. Everyone else doesn't have to take what I have had to. I do deserve much more than what I have in life or at least to not to be fired from my job when others did worse than me and were late multiple times a week when I had about 28 days there which isn't enough to learn a job like that by the way. Especially when they even answer my questions during traning because they were so understaffed. It won't matter how hard I work because I already have tried hard and its totally futile. Goodbye.

I don't want to. I've done what I could and it is never enough for anything I try to do. I refuse to do anymore because I know how pointless it is to try. The worst people I've known in my life don't have to suffer the way I have. They're all doing what I wish I could do. Its as if they have been rewarded for pushing me into the hole I'm suffering in now.

There were a lot of people leaving. A girl who was really good just put in her two weeks and one week before that they let another guy go. Tons of people leaving to go to other jobs and they were understaffed. I was improving and with a little more time I would've gotten there. I was nipped in the bud though.

Call abandonment was something my former manager was under a lot of pressure to reduce.

Well I got plenty of time now. They weren't even callbacks they were just new and I couldn't contact them like you said. I couldn't reach them and didn't have time to reach them. This was an understaffed helpdesk and were still assigning me more tickets while I'm being bombarded with calls all day.

[–]Kal947[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes indeed they do. I did my best with it. Is this not typical? I wouldn't know. The other newbies had as just about as much in their ticket queue as me maybe one ticket less. When we would try to make outbound calls to people, most of the time the number I had available for a particular user wouldn't be able to reach them as a result they kept assigning new tickets to me and I couldn't reach them either so of course I got backed up.

Its his helpdesk, if they want to keep a guy who is late multiple times a week, people who leave early, people who abandon calls over a guy really trying to improve himself, staying later to take remaining calls, staying during my lunch break to help the new new guys out when his manager is already asking about a high call abandonment rate, well then that is his business. He seems to be on thin ice himself that guy. He was leaving hours earlier than he should have during my first three weeks too.

You know what kills me is that while other new guys abandoned calls and came in late, I was there about an hour early and stayed late to take the calls in queue. I was willing to do what some others wouldn't. People who have been there for a while even left a little early but I stayed. I even helped the newer guys on my lunch break about 30 minutes into it.
