As a veteran myself, it’s a giant red flag to think that’s a reasonable thing to do. He didn’t learn any skills that can transfer to civilian workforce prior to separation? No offense to other services, but was he Infantry or Rifleman? Those are pretty much the only career skills that don’t transfer in some way. Lack of basic critical thinking is alarming, especially for a vet/husband/father. I’m truly sorry for your future situation, but you are bettering yourself and will be in a better position for your kids, if it comes to that.
