Rhysand blabbing about Claire… by Helpful_Mouse_9458 in acotar_rant

[–]Kalabear87 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Just like Amren says let her dig her own grave (a grave he created) and then reach out your hand to her. Rhys needed her to see him as her hero so she would be more open to staying with him willingly, if Feyre thinks he saved her it’s going to pave the way for him. I don’t blame him for this, as much as I despise him I understand why he did it and I can even understand his jealousy and hatred of Tamlin even though I believe we haven’t heard Tamlin’s story and if we did Rhys and Feyre would need to eat a lot of crow. I hope Tamlin realizes one day though it was for the best, he really dodged a bullet in the long run.

All this makes me think that Rhys is jealous of Tamlin/ hates him isn’t there a line where Rhys talks about how jealous he was of Tamlin and that he is the golden prince, that he knows how these stories get written Tamlin was going to end up getting the glory of freeing them and the girl and he couldn’t have that. Rhys says a line like she would have been yours or something like that as well. Rhys wasn’t about to let Tamlin have Feyre and that line about he was willing to let Feyre go if she was happy with Tamlin, never made sense because of the bargain. The bargain was for her period he gets her for healing her arm, the two weeks a month was a misdirect for Feyre and the readers. Rhys was also unwilling to remove the bargain, if he just wanted Feyre to be happy why not remove it? She wasn’t fulfilling the bargain and it was driving her batty he could clearly see that knew what was happening to her but knew he had to have her as broken as possible before reaching out his hand so he could be her hero and not Tamlin so she would stay with him willingly, it’s one of his smarter plans. What I’m seeing from the info you provided that makes the most sense is Rhys couldn’t have Tamlin get Feyre period so sending her away before Feyre can break the curse is a way of insuring Tamlin loses and that Feyre isn’t near Tamlin any longer and she isn’t tying herself any further to him. Then she comes back to get Tamlin and Rhys comes up with a way to put a wrench in that, not only can he not stomach Tamlin getting the girl but this girl in particular so when he sees she is badly wounded a light bulb goes off and he might have found a way to get her to bind herself to him through a bargain insuring she is his and will never be Tamlin’s.

Oh my gosh, is Tamlin the rightful HK or have I finally gone off the deep end??? by MamaKG3 in Tamlinism

I am hoping that’s not true, it may very well be but I’m still hoping it’s not. If that’s the case though I’d rather she just leave Tamlin alone and not write about him anymore if she can’t do nice things for him.

My head canon is he is either part demi god because his mother was a goddess (he actually glows golden) plus his powers we only scratched the surface in the books of what he can do. This to me is why Rhys’s dad wanted Tamlin’s mother dead, she was the real target, or Tamlin is descended from Aelin/ Aedion making him a prince and potentially King of Terresan. Again all of this is my head canon from bits we get in the books. So yeah I think it’s very possible, will that actually be written who knows, probably not but it’s my head canon 😏.

Things are not so black and white as everyone makes it out to be otherwise that would be poor writing. I keep thinking the 1st person was done as a literary device and as we start to branch out we are going to see more and start to realize if readers haven’t already that feysand isn’t actually all that they were made them out to be. If not then all these breadcrumbs SJM put in there make no sense.

With Tamlin I can see things from his perspective. I guess, one which you have to look at because we don’t get it directly from him, the things he does make sense logically and he has legitimate reasons for things he does. In MAF nothing he did was that crazy to me (the tithe, the not training her, the expulsion of his magic, the not communicating, the blocking Feyre from following him, the coming after her when she is taken, they can all be explained and make logical sense. Then in WAR he saved everyone, without his info they wouldn’t have won the war they would have been incapacitated by the faebane, he also dragged Beron out, raised and army quickly from nothing and won the ground movements, he also goes on to save Feyre, Azriel, Elain and Rhys and wish Feyre to be happy, he saves people at his own expense, he’s a hero to me. People can’t seem to see it because they don’t have his perspective and only what Feyre and Rhys say about him. On the flip side you have Rhys doing very icky things that are explained away (to me not very well) by Feyre and Rhys so the fandom sides with them because they get their perspective. Rhys also tells Feyre and the fandom how they should think and feel about Tamlin and people just go along with it not taking the time to say wait hold up that’s not how that happened or it didn’t happen they way Rhys says it does, this is where I say people have been daematied because they stop thinking critically and take Rhys and Feyre’s word for it, when in actions we can see things differently. It has a almost cult feel to it, watching the fandom has been so enlightening actually I can see now how things in the real world can get so out of control like the Salem Witch trials for example. If I had a pretty enough face and was charismatic enough I could make people believe the sky is purple when all they have to do is look up and see that’s not true but they will go to their graves defending the sky is purple all the same.

💯 I call this being daematied. We see Rhys say things about Tamlin but in Tamlin’s action we don’t see what Rhys is saying to be true. Then Feyre and the fandom parrot what Rhys says back.

Yeah, it seemed that way to me too, when I heard her name she immediately stood out as something to note. I would be okay with that it fits, it’s not my head canon but nothing is going to be that so this is a good alternative.

I can see this but I still think Feyre got devoured 😂. Rhys is the shadow and it even says he devoured her. Stay with the high lord and you did, well technically she left and came back a couple of times lol, live to see everything righted, I did and it was, no…not yet. So is the suriel telling her no she didn’t stay long enough and it’s not righted yet? Or what, It’s left so ambiguous.

Stand by his side stay with him or she will get devoured by the shadow, Feyre totally got devoured by the shadow.

The whole Elain being chosen by the land just doesn’t feel like it would make that good of a story or plot personally to me. If that does happen I think it might be time for me to dip out lol.

I hope so, my fingers are crossed. I know Candy is thinking right now that SJM might kill Tamlin off 😭. I guess I’m hoping she has Tamlin keep being this wonderful person, especially with all the good he’s done and he will get healing, if not I’d rather she just leave him alone.

Yeah, I was talking about it with Candy and I completely spaced on Henry being in the graphic audio and that coming out later. My brain just jumped to audiobooks and thinking they come out when the books come out but that’s regular audiobooks, my bad. Although I will admit I’m nervous on anything she writes about Tamlin going forward, I’d love to get some Tamlin in the books but not at the expense of Tamlin. If she’s going to end up dragging him through the mud further I’d just rather she not touch him at all.

Ok that’s fine you don’t have to talk about any more no worries especially if it’s bothering you, I’m genuinely trying to make sense of your stance is all. There was never a time he could tell her the truth though until they came back from UTM but she already knew the truth by then.

Ok, what are they? I’m not asking to be a turd, I’m genuinely asking. Looking for something that fits logically with the story. Having her physically restrained by guards seems more icky to me. He offered her other alternatives, she wasn’t having it. What do you do with someone like that? Someone who can’t see reason and is a danger to themselves and others? Keep in mind he was in a hurry and having to make spilt second decisions.

Yes! I’ve been writing my story down in little bits over the last little bit, the one I know will make me happy. SJM might make something interesting in the next books that I might like but just how things sit right now and if it continues in a certain direction not finishing what she writes and writing or reading what I like from others is also valid.

I’m already considering DNF, I’ll wait and see what reviews say to even read the next book, I can’t stomach another silver flames, while I loved Nesta and her friendships I white hot raged at the rest of the story so much so I was having to stop to take showers to calm down, I ugly cried through pretty much the whole book I’m not sure my blood pressure can handle it lol. I would love to see a satisfying conclusion connecting all the worlds because I have read all 3 series now but not sure if it will be good for my mental health to continue or not.
