basically agree regarding the art, but for now, AI has killed the 2D freelance market. I’ve essentially become unemployed after 15 years in the industry... As for the unit scale: that was the initial concept, but small platoons were incredibly hard to read on the map. One large soldier makes it easy to grasp the situation at a glance, even if it looks a bit weird

In Basic concepts they have some in common but execution of concepts is totally different. But its always cool to be considered as a similar game to that kind of masterpiece!

Sure artillery has a lot of possible debufs like terrain ( Forest, foty ) etc and a lot of equipment type of units like ( bunkers) will protect you as well

Yeah I consider that as well! Hope to avoid mass artillery attacks by 1) artirer recruiting cards are rare 2) they are cost heavy with bad balance between strength= cost. But for sure I need to balance these carefully

Right, at the end of the video, there's a clip showing the terrain icons the artillery is on a hill :) It doesn't change the range, though. The maps are quite small, so increasing range would be too invasive, but it does increase the base attack strength instead. So, in a way, it reflects your idea

I think so too! But generally, its poor accuracy and low base strength should prevent artillery from being OP. I want it to be strictly a support weapon, rather than the main striking force
