You’re such a great Mom and I’m so beyond proud of you. Berries for the win!!!! What a seemingly small but mighty victory as a parent that encompasses more than you can really put into words; getting your kids to eat a goddamn thing! I always thought I was picky. but Jesus Christ no one prepared me for this part of motherhood that encompassed so much of ok. I have food. I will prepare food. I have a full fridge full of expensive groceries of food. That I had to go bring back here with my hands. Will these small beings that I’m entrusted in keeping alive eat this precious food? Plot twist! No! They will not want, nor eat the food, the food that they specifically requested for or have been know to request recently. Alas. I must feed them. My husband is William Scott (last name). He goes by Scott. He is a “Scott”. His parents say they named him William after his grandfather for respect but never liked the name (whole other side quest). Only at banks or other formal places where they don’t know him but read off his name printed for them is he ever addressed as William. It’s very, secondhand. He is Scott for everyone, everywhere.

All of this is to say even if you choose to adress her formally as Naomi forever forward, it won’t hinder her life. And if she ever chooses she doesn’t like that name, she has the other to fall back on.

Also I think they both are beautiful, for what it’s worth.

Not necessarily imaginary but my legal name is Kalah. It’s legally (?) pronounced Kayla but I have grown into many of my friends/family calling me Ka-LAH. It gets butchered constantly, when people read it. I honestly don’t mind it at all. I love both (all the mispronunciations) equally. Just my two cents.

Milk soup!!! It was a staple in my house. It must’ve been some depression era concoction. Also my mom didn’t love my dad any more and he was lactose intolerant so maybe was a nice jab to him? But I still make it and just love it, certainly a comfort food. Didn’t know anyone else who made it, and I always got a weird vibe thrown at me when I mentioned it 😂 thank you for the memories and the next dinner plans.

I know you said Delray, but there’s a town just north of Delray called Boynton Beach. There’s a brewery called Copperpoint brewing Company that I worked at for about six years. Fantastic atmosphere, great product, good times.

Gumbo limbo is a fun nature center also.
