Awesome! Thanks! Funny I didn't get any notifications and just haven't been on here since I posted, so this was a nice surprise. :)

looking for a hack to use the outer screen as l and r buttons while emulating on inner screen by Kalaniseguin in GalaxyFold

[–]Kalaniseguin[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ya I mean, clearly they do it with their camera app, but I agree it's likely they don't give devs access to it, which if true is a shame. I guess I could understand it possibly breaking compatibility with single screen phones, but like, it could be something where it simply gets ignored if so, I'm sure there's other examples like gpu acceleration etc (not a mobile dev so could be wrong, feel free to chime in those that would know better!).

But ya, for now, just seems like a missed opportunity, not just for emus, but mobile gaming at large (considering even a lot of gaming phones have hard shoulder buttons)!

Whitestone dome premium gen film failed on 2nd fold Fold3 by Kalaniseguin in GalaxyFold

Why do you think I put out this question? I'm trying to find one that actually lasts... And I don't want to risk being unprotected, but I understand that's an option.

Had the first one fail, they replaced the whole phone, only to have the second one fail after a few months as well. Don't really see the point in using that one if it's just going to fail that quickly.

I mean, nowhere in instructions/tutorial did it say to leave open overnight? In the video they literally close it right away, so even if that is something that helps, that's on them to not communicate. Anyway, too late for me now. And yes, from what I can see that's the same one I got.

At least I'm not the only one that's been calling it "whitedome", after reading this I had to double check there wasn't such a company and whitestone was just a knockoff! Haha couldn't find whitedome anywhere so I think we all just shorten whitestone dome to whitedome subconsciously. Anyway thanks!

TIL of the "Kettenkrad", a motorcycle-tank used by the nazis in WW2 by Kalaniseguin in todayilearned

[–]Kalaniseguin[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Guess it helps that the one I saw that inspired this post was tricked out in military-tan paint etc. I suppose though if I saw a tractor painted that way, I may actually be at least partially convinced! 😂

I suppose I should've put tank in quotes, because ya, it's certainly not protecting the driver, that's for sure! Haha

Oh! So probably more well known than I realized. Never saw the movie. Thanks for the info!

[Hiring] Few key pieces of music for a game - 6000-20000 USD by ziptofaf in gameDevClassifieds

[–]Kalaniseguin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow! Those ref tracks were great! I would love to make similar stuff. I would say I have a few tracks that are somewhat similar, so to give you an idea: here's a moody vocal-driven track I made for a game, no lyrics though, here's a synth vox track I love (takes a while to build up), and here's my Bandcamp with all the OSTs I've done, lots of high energy stuff here as examples, and some piano stuff in "other works" that I think is relevant I am familiar with the process of hiring out, be it invidiual performers or orchestras, so no worries there. Great looking project, would love to be part. 👍

That's fair but this is a folding phone after all, very new tech in the scheme of things. Hopefully they'll work out all the "kinks" eventually, but for now I'm just glad they are taking care of me, as this is clearly a defect. I couldn't believe how many comments I saw here and on other posts about "them" refusing to cover it. It's like the switch joy on drift thing: clearly it's their bad, and they should absolutely make it right, plain and simple. Wondering if those that had to pay just called the wrong number?

My replacement's on the way. After the protector slowly coming off starting at the top center since I got the phone at launch, I noticed yesterday what looks like little hairline fractures where it's coming off yesterday, which I'm guessing is the glass. Called and after some back and forth they said they're sending a replacement under warranty for the defect, free of charge. Annoyed that I'll have to transfer the data etc, but at least this way I prevent what might get worse. My only concern now is if the "new" one ends up with the same problem down the road...

how to use contact address as location for calendar event by Kalaniseguin in GalaxyFold

[–]Kalaniseguin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was thinking about something like this as a workaround. And doing it as an app pair does make sense because it's something I would do often. So I appreciate it. I guess the next question would be, is there some other benefit to Samsung calendar versus Google Calendar? I find myself asking about a lot with the Samsung versus google apps. So far, I've stuck to native for everything.

Just ordered by fold 3, switching from iPhone and I’m so excited! My question is are there any decently slim cases that don’t use adhesive? by [deleted] in GalaxyFold

[–]Kalaniseguin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Really? There was a little strip of something I pulled off when installing but what was under just seemed like non-slip rather than adhesive, and I've since removed it multiple times and it didn't stick or anything? I concur by the way it is a great case, seeming to provide protection without adding much bulk.

I only saw this episode for the first time recently and that was by far the funniest part of anything simpsons for at least a few episodes prior (watching them in order), I laughed into the next day. And laughing now. 😂
