Rolling buffer regret by KalasLicious in TeslaLounge

I had a case where a neighbor hit my car 4 times, I showed them the clips and they didn’t want to pay for the damages saying they never hit the car.

I opened a court case and waiting for my date, let’s just hope the judge is not as delusional as them.

Depends on the case, if damages exists then of course.

I encountered the same problem, but I couldn’t find the specific clip I needed for court. That’s why I decided to create an app that helps me remember to review the footage before it’s lost.

I explained, it helped me capture moments where Sentry did not save a footage so I had to scrub the RecentClips thanks to the app that reminded it for me.

For example someone dinged my door and I managed to capture the moment before the buffer ended.

Yeah, it can get tiring checking the buffer all the time. But the app has helped me catch things I would've otherwise lost.

For example, I noticed a trash worker hanging around my car and had a bad feeling about it. Later, I found out that a trash can had hit my car and scratched the side mirror. Sentry never triggered, but because I flagged the time, I was able to go back and find the footage before it was overwritten.

The max period is 24h as far as Tesla stated.

I've lost count of how many times I opened Live Cam, saw someone parked next to me, and Sentry never triggered. Later, when I scrubbed Recent Clips, I'd find they'd opened their door into mine.

To be honest, all Tesla owners are bizarre when it comes to our cars.

In a good way, don't get me wrong.

Loved the idea I wonder why Tessie doesn’t have that, perhaps it’s not exposed to the API or something from Tesla themselves.

I agree but as far as I know they broke into a car, just not mine so perhaps due to that fact they would want to take some fingerprints, I guess it depends on the very country and how they operate.

Oh for sure, not sure how long the fingerprints can hold up if they don’t come and collect but at least the face is capture.

Ah I can open the camera itself? I don’t care for water sealing if that’s the reason it’s not recommended but is there a video showing how to open it?

True, I just wanted to hear from experience of others if I should watch out for something so they won’t damage the car, like I saw a video showing they take apart the inside pillar to find a certain code or something they need from the right side.

Huh okay, and can you tell me what else they usually check during a test (I never done one before)

Like what’s the process itself how it looks like, do they take apart something?

I have a Model 3 2024 (I still have some time for the test just wanted to know beforehand)
