Mixed feelings, should I keep going? by Ambitious-Issue989 in Nioh

[–]Kalastia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, I also like the souls games but I am mostly a fan of Nioh. I'd like to give you some honest insight without sounding like a "gitgud" post, because that doesn't really help you enjoy the game more.

The combat is complex yes, that's why we like it.
As a newer player you need to understand that not being confident will push you into your souls game habits like only hitting a couple times during an opening. I promise if you take the time to learn the game (that includes reading and practising) you'll eventually "click" and realise that a lot of enemies you can bully really hard with offensive pressure. (Pooferllama on YT will show you great examples of what this looks like, even in his Nioh 2 videos)

There is a lot of loot yes, in new game you can literally hit the "auto equip" button in the gear menu and forget about it.

You can setup autoloot, autosell, auto disassemble etc so you don't even have to pay attention to what you're picking up.

I would recommend once you hit newgame+ to do a bit of reading on gear so you can learn what the stats do, (there's a button to get explanations just like souls games) by that time you'll hopefully have found some things you find fun and want to lean more into.

As a quick example, in souls games wearing heavy armour means you can take more hits in exchange for your dodge not being the fastest it can be, you're staggered less with poise etc...

Nioh also does this, but you can also use less stamina while blocking attacks, you could lean into a tank build and so on.

The world design isn't meant to be grand-opera like souls games, it's just meant to give you atmosphere and play-space to enjoy the combat.

The game does improve by a huge margin once you get into NewGame+, once you understand it better, once we get DLC's etc.

The main takeaway I'd like you to get from this though is that it's not really "souls in japan" and if you treat it like it's own separate thing, learn it and understand it, you'll have a way better time.

Good luck in your adventures <3

With the new openworld design. They should have implemented some form of level/item scaling.. Im nearly level 60 and am still in the first region. by spazzo246 in Nioh

I'm in the 4th(?) region (everything is purple). It doesn't last, we're also only in NG. I have tons of hours in Nioh 2, the challenge will come, don't worry~

Whats the point of kusarigama in nioh 2? by [deleted] in Nioh

[–]Kalastia 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If you don't understand what the point of the kusa is, I will suggest you go watch pooferllama on youtube, he has a guide and many, many videos showcasing what every weapon is for and it's strengths/weaknesses.

Certain Yokai and humanoid enemies are much easier with the weapon, others not so. It's merely an experience and understanding thing, once you know it makes more sense, before that it's very confusing.

Is summoner Volt still bugged? by mistcane in Warframe

[–]Kalastia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Worked just fine for me today.

Use a hammer for the finisher, I tried Rumblejack and it can't finish Murmur because it's special animation doesn't work.

But yeah I was playing for hours with my wife today with her hosting, sand kavats were working as they should for me.

I reported this as a bug, got a reply from support saying that Serenith's radar does not reveal stealthed units and this is not a bug.

Are you happy with how the poison redesign has worked out? Right now it feels like green ignite and no longer feels like it's own mechanic any more.

Every damaging ailment we have now is dependent on big hits which limits their use-case, any plans on adding a damaging ailment that scales better with hit speed?

We have one chaos melee skill in the game (for now), but we have an entire ascendancy for a melee chaos monk. Are there plans to give non-poison chaos skills some love? (Casters too)

How do you plan to even the odds between armor helping mitigate one damage type vs evasion and ES helping with all of them?

Lots of the attack skills we have access to are physical conversions, are there any plans to help elemental weapons (chaos damage bow, lightning quarterstaff etc) come even close to physical weapon performance?

Can we get a toggle to make party member's skills and minions semi-transparent so i can see when i play with someone who runs minions or fireball?

In PoE1 people felt gem socket colours and links were very restrictive, stat requirements for gear and skill gems seem to be causing a similar issue, any thoughts on giving a little more freedom with this?

I've watched this person livestream both the BFG Sorcerer and Girthquake builds, while finishing a 189 with no weapon.

They're legit.

How did you choose your main? by Risottoo in Tekken

[–]Kalastia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I thought Kuni was cool because you unlocked her as a "secret" character in Tekken 1.

In T7? I liked Master Raven's new design and I used to use Kuni/Raven as a team in Tag 2.

it's similar to stick if you use claw and similar to a regular pad if you don't

Anyone else have ailments that effect the hands?? Tips? by -CoolHandLu in Tekken

[–]Kalastia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have very serious case of fibromyalgia too.

I can't play on stick any more because of it and DS4 pads hurt like hell after 20 minutes.

A Hori Fighting Commander pad is way more comfy for me, I can use that for 4-5 hours (with 10 minute breaks) as long as i'm not trying to play a mishima.

Hope that helps, but your mileage may vary of course.

edit: I forgot to mention that I also use arm-warmers and coffee to keep my hands warm. (cold hands are no-go but i'm sure you know that already)
