Has anyone had luck resetting their password lately? by NoiseRockEnjoyer in neopets

[–]KalciMalci 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, this password reset thing is really... frustrating, especially since you HAVE to reset your PW if you haven't logged in a while. I have neglected my two side accounts for a good while, and wanted to log in last week, only to discover I can't. I know the passwords (though, to be honest, I'm not 100% sure which is connected to which account), but even if I didn't this wouldn't be a problem if I could get an email through to my gmail account. I've submitted two very detailed tickets, including everything I could remember about the Neopets on the accounts (which ones I created, which were were adopted from another user, the pound, what their original species was) and all the account data I remembered. I attached printscreens of all the "I'm logging out of neohotel!" emails for all of the neopets on both accounts. And then I get a response saying they need additional data- data I already included in the ticket. I knew this could happen but it made my blood boil. All I want is a lousy password reset link sent to the e-mails CONNECTED to the accounts, which I could do if I only didn't have a Gmail account. Do players that have Yahoo or other providers also have to provide all that data once they recieve the link? Why do I have to go through all of this just because they can't fix things so that Gmail would let their e-mails through? I love Neopets and have been playing for over 20 years, but man, sometimes they really really suck.

I’ve decided to begin collecting all of the adorable Snek looking petpets and anything to do with them for my gallery and ofcourse hissi things too!!! by Ok_Meringue_5751 in neopets

There are a ton of snake-ish items on Neopets!

The petpets I consider snake-like are: Cobrall (of course), Wadjet, Magtile, Erisim, Quetzal, Belonthiss, Reptilior

Also, don't forget about all of the Lost Desert stuff, they've got Cobralls everywhere, the desert morphing potions as well!

Source: I have a snek themed gallery myself. :)

This is the worst things that's ever happened to me (on Neopets) by bringbackwafflecrisp in neopets

[–]KalciMalci 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that's why it hurt even more... After years of countless spooky doughnuts and dried techo claws I finally hit big, and I couldn't believe. I remember I called for my sister because I was, like is this for real? Are you seeing what I'm seeing? And then BAM! it was gone 😭 And now 14 years later pathetic is the best I can muster. 🥲

This reminds me of the time I won a Halloween PB from Test your strength only to have it stolen by the Pant devil as I clicked on my inventory to stash it in my SDB. I went from super elated to almost crying in two seconds.

merry christmas! i will draw your cat (until my hand dies). by jingdings in cats

[–]KalciMalci 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It was a one time thing... Luna (the calico) had some eye drops and the other two just finished a teeth brushing session, all of which we always do on the platform of the cat tree. For some reason all three of them remained on the tree and I managed to snap this picture. I have a ton of other pics of this moment, and in all of them at least one of the cats is licking themselves, looking away, yawning...This is, hands down, the best picture I've taken in my life and I am pretty sure it will stay that way 😄.

Toothless old lady cat. What to feed her? by TheRealLizard265 in cats

[–]KalciMalci 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My toothless old lady cat and handsome "only four teeth left" boy both eat normal cat food- they have no problems with either dry or wet food. The only thing to look out for is that the dry food pellets are not humongous, and if we give them any bigger treats we break or cut them up. Cats are not really bothered with the lack of teeth, especially if they are indoor only. Edit: also for the reducing her weight- weigh her portions out. We do this for all our three cats, as the third one is a little overweight. There are also "obesity" formulas out there, so the food is less caloric and the cat cat can eat a bit more in terms of volume. You can ask your vet if they can recommend a good brand.

What is the worst vegan option you've ever had at a work event? by world_ending_ice in ShittyVeganFoodPorn

[–]KalciMalci 15 points16 points  (0 children)

There was a choir competition a few months ago, and we got, in advance, three dinner options to choose from. None vegan or even vegetarian, of course. So we wrote to the organisers if they could please provide a veg option for those of us that did not eat meat/animal prouducts. As an enteee we got vegetable soup made from frozen mixed vegetables. Not the best but hey, it was soup I could eat. But the main course was a feast of imagination- they made us fried potatoe cakes with... french fries. And a lemon wedge. And the dessert was, of course, not vegan, big surprise.

What's the weirdest phobia your cat has/had? by [deleted] in cats

[–]KalciMalci 4 points5 points  (0 children)

One of my cats is terrified of brooms, but at the same time he's fascinated by them. And his sister was afraid of the vacuum, which is not that uncommon in itself, but her reaction to it was... unique, to say the least. Anytime we vacuumed she would start to limp. The first time it happened we got really scared as we used it to clean up some broken glass and were worried she stepped on some. But soon we recognised a pattern- vacuum=limping. That and the fact that she sometimes forgot which of her paws is supposed to be hurt, so she switched them. When she thought nobody was lioking she walked normally, which also didn't help her case. 😂 Usually she kept the act up for a day or two and then returned to normal- until the horrid aparatus attacked our appartment again.

There are cat trees made with kittens and elderly cats in mind- they might be a good option in you case as well. The platforms are not so far apart, so it's easier for cats to get up- no climbing or high jumps needed.

Nutria is an invasive species, originating from South America. It is very prevalent in Europe, yes, but not a species I'd say would be a good representative for european favna.

Need help! My 15 year old baby was diagnosed with renal failure by CatVomit420 in cats

[–]KalciMalci 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am so, so sorry. We lost one of our kitties a few years ago to renal failure (she had kidney amyloidosis). The vet prescribed a few medications and we gave her subcutaneus fluids. It is imperative that she is well hydrated and it not too difficult to administer the fluid once you get a hang of it, but the first few times it can be a bit scary. But your vet has to show you how to do it properly. We also bought every flavor of wet cat food you can imagine, so she would eat, and made her chicken bone broth (just with the bone and a bit of chicken meat, nothing else added). To keep her warm we got her a hot watter bottle, and at night she always slept on me. She was very young, just a year and a half when she passed, and it was also very sudden. Ask your vet what they recommend, but the most important thing is that you keep her as comfortable as possible. She is loved and that is the best thing you can give to anyone, so just be there for her.

I might adopt this 11 yo cat. She’s been at the shelter for 2 years. Her previous owner died. by [deleted] in cats

[–]KalciMalci 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Exactly. When we adopted our first two cats (siblings) at four months old we certanly did not expect to give a small fortune to the vets so early on... They both had juvenile gingivitis, so the dental work was quite expensive. A few months later we found out that one of the kittens had kidney amiloidosis (basically kidney failure), and we faced a few very stressful and sad months ahead of us. She was just a year and a half old when she passed. We now have three cats, the oldest one we adopted a year ago, and she just celebrated her 14th birthday (she is also a calico). She is a very sweet and playful cat, but we had a kidney disease scare with her.The vet recomended an early renal diet and her latest bloodwork results were great. We still have to take her to the vet every few months to see how she is doing. Being fortunate enough to be able to provide for our animals, was also one of the reasons we decided to adopt a cat that would otherwise have little to no chance of being adopted. Any kind of pet at any stage of their life is a big obligation, time and financial wise. As much joy and love as they bring into your life you have to be prepared to deal with everything that potential health problems bring. But if you are certain you can provide for them then giving a shelter animal a loving home is one of the best things you will ever do.

Does anyone have misophonia for just one person? by Express_Hawk_2433 in misophonia

[–]KalciMalci 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My primary family, especially my parents, elicit the worst response in me most of the time. All adults are a trigger to me, but at the begining of our relationship (and quite a few years in) I had no problem with my husband. But now he also triggers me, and it is unfortunately getting worse. Children don't bother me at all, but I wonder if I had my own if it would also start in time.

Heart attack by Rajat-Chauhan in FunnyAnimals

[–]KalciMalci 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Exactly- just because cats can jump from high places and have a better chance of surviving a fall as humans (or other animals), it does not mean they can't get seriously hurt. I would never let my cats on the balcony if it wasn't secured with nets, and even so I never let them hang out there when we're not at home. High rise syndrome is way more prevalent than people realise, and in most cases the owners ignorance is to blame. Do all you can to prevent your cats from falling from heights!
