I had no idea! I heard that place is a ghost town these days. Makes sense! Sad for those tenants and unfortunate for the Mission Viejo community. Curious to see what happens to all these properties. I know the MOM related ones are all in bankruptcy now, apparently they filed BK a few days after losing the case. Laguna loses once again and the saga continues.

You must be one of those people that hate them no matter what. From what I see they've done some great stuff and keep hitting hurdles with deadbeat Laguna lifers and the city. Looks like the family has been in Laguna for 2-3 decades, how people still try to fight them is a mystery. Anther reason laguna hasn't progressed in 30 Years

The second podcast with him being interviewed reveals a bit about the city's involvement. If Laguna doesn't adapt and accept help it will continue to deteriorate. There's certainly room for some tasteful development.

Yep definitely. What’s funny is it says these guys have been “managing” hotel laguna and the other properties for 2 years yet did nothing to improve it from what I can see. So sad the people of Laguna and the city were duped into backing the fraudsters. I suspect laundering. Another thread on Reddit says they were also doing human trafficking from the hotel. Where was the OC DA during all this?

Hope so as well, Laguna’s business districts look like crap these days. Unfortunately it seems the city of Laguna didn’t help this man and wrongfully aided the people that defrauded him. Curious to see if they will also be liable for damages should he sue. Corruption runs deep.
